Overview
See Monument Valley with a local and expert Navajo guide. This tour covers restricted parts of the valley, from sandstone arches to famous monuments like The Three Sisters, The Totem Pole Spire, The Mitten Buttes and The YeiBiChei Spires. Get up close to ancient ruins and the most iconic monoliths. Learn about the history and culture of the valley. Relax while your guide plays the Native American flute or sings a ceremonial song.
Highlights
  • Journey through the area’s restricted region with a Navajo guide
  • Take the stress out of renting a car with included transport
  • Upgrade for a Navajo home visit to listen to music
  • Choose from multiple tour times to fit your busy schedule
What to Expect
Meet for your tour in The View Hotel’s lobby in Monument Valley. Once you meet your guide, board an open-air vehicle for your guided adventure through the lower valley. Hear stories and legends about the area as you pass sights such as Mitten Buttes, John Ford's Point, Yeibichai, Three Sisters Spires, and Elephant Butte. Since your guide is a part of the local Navajo tribe, you’ll have access to areas most regular visitors don’t get to see. Get up close to Big Chief Monument and Sleeping Dragon Rock before moving on to one of the valley’s largest arches, Sun’s Eye, and Anasazi ruins. If you’ve chosen to upgrade your experience, visit a Yazzie family inside a hogan (a traditional Navajo home). Learn about the culture of the Navajo people, as well as their history in the valley. Your tour ends with a drop-off back at the lobby of The View Hotel.

Can't say more than enough about the tour especially starting with our tour guide Van. She was such an enjoyable lady, regalling us with stories and insights about her people, culture, family and of course Monument Valley. Will always remember this experience.

Beautiful country. Tour in open air vehicle. Thankfully, tour guide brought blankets to keep tourists warm on a cold, windy morning!

We really appreciated our guide's insights into what this land means to the Navajo people. And if you want to get into the valley, you really need to go with a company that can take you to places your family car can't--and shouldn't try to--go. On the other hand, I will say that
