- 978mandyq0 contributionsFun, informative, food, music, AtmosphericIt was a fantastic experience, maybe not 100% authentic but they give you so much positivity and culture throughout all the islands, not just Hawaii. I appreciate the inclusion and history passed down . The food was good and the host was kind. Music was perfect. Pricey but a good experience for me and my familyWritten August 29, 2024
- marlenerW9171LD0 contributionsCherished memoryI took my teen age granddaughter Myths of Maui Luau last night, we had a wonderful time. The show was fabulous, the view and sunset was beautiful. The facility is perfectly located. I can not say enough about the staff, everyone was kind and pleasant, and let's talk food, yummy, all you can eat and my granddaughter went back for more. Thank you all for a wonderful time and making this a special memory.Written June 11, 2024
- mparker0 contributionsAn Underwhelming Luau ExperienceDespite purchasing VIP tickets, the luau experience was mediocre at best. Having attended numerous luaus, we decided to give this one a try, but it did not meet expectations. The dancers were merely average, and the MC failed to engage the audience effectively. The three-member band was satisfactory, albeit not impressive for a luau. Additionally, the food quality did not justify the ticket price, and there was minimal interaction between the dancers and the audience. Based on this experience, I recommend exploring alternative luaus that offer a more authentic and engaging experience.Written May 31, 2024

- stevensB4500PH0 contributionsThe Royal Kona Luau was Royal!Best. Luau. Ever. We have been to multiple luau‘s on multiple Hawaiian islands. This one was intimate, funny and professional. The musicians were fantastic. The way they sang. While story telling, was wonderful, performers were funny, classy, and so talented. The Food ? A+ , the only thing we missed was being presented The lei, only the shell necklaces only on the tables for self serve but, Can’t wait to go backWritten March 11, 2024
- Maps538905656850 contributionsGreat show and staff. Food was Okay. Very cheap alcohol. Not sure if this was the best one.The whole team puts in a great deal of effort into the fantastic show, which we thoroughly enjoyed. Beautiful location overlooking the ocean. Too bad the food was just Okay. The drinks and wine were some of the cheapest alcohol I have ever tasted to keep the cost down I imagine. I would have to go to another luau for comparison before I could give this luau a very high recommendation.Written March 10, 2024

- 71jjm0 contributionsHawaiian LuauGino the server awesome. Dancing was awesome! MC very good. Food was buffet food. cake was 2"x2" at the end. Drinks were tasty but very weak in alcohol. The rain shower happened and it did not affect anything but would of been nice to have been offered a towel to wipe down chairs. Plastic chairs uncomfortable. Picture was a nice giftWritten January 14, 2024
- MsLenia0 contributionsSibling Royal Hawaii Luau! What is a spectacular Hawaiian Luau right by the sea with breathtaking views. Conveniently located near the condo where we were staying. From the parking to making it to our table, the staff made it so easy! Amazing Hawaiian dancers and storytelling truly enjoyed ourselves. The Bartender for the evening was quick and attentive and he got through the orders in a timely manner, and offered suggestions as well. Gino was our server for the evening and he anticipated the needs of our entire table. A++!! I would give 10 Stars if I could. I've been to Luaus on all four of the islands and this one is definitely a standout.Written December 6, 2023
- mh13410 contributionsA nice showThe show is at the resort right at the water. It is a nice show explaining the history with dancing, singing and fire tossing. There is a buffet included. The food was good. Depending on what souvenirs you want, there are different levels of tickets. We didn't pay for the upgrade but got a good seat. I recommend that you get there early. A line forms and that is how you choose your seats. The resort gives you a discount on parking for attending the show.Written October 23, 2023
- Carene O0 contributionsA beautiful night in KonaOur first trip to Hawaii so we splurged for the VIP tickets, and this was walking distance from our condo. Beautiful setting. Friendly and attentive waiter with drinks. Good food. Show was probably not the best in Hawaii but we enjoyed it very much.Written August 20, 2023
- M8184LAmichaels0 contributionsBest part was that it eventually ended. Everything before that sucked.Nothing was enjoyable. Food was awful, drinks disgusting, outrageous price. Nothing positive to say.Written August 12, 2023

- wenzzzz0 contributionsGood But not Fantastic Been to betterWell I only tell the truth and this was our experience. We arrived at the scheduled time of 445pm and were shuffled into a long queue of people checking in. The lady doing the checkin was quite rude and abrupt when we asked if the seatrs were allocated or if we could sit anywhere. (simply question) no need for the response we received (you can sit where ever you like, but stay behind the line as you're not checked in yet) her exact words in a tone that I would not speek to some that has paid $$$ to attend their Luau. After finally checking in we were given a coloured wrist band and told to find a seat, so we did. By this time there would have been 350-400 people there and only ONE bar with one bar tender and 75 people in the queue waiting for drinks. You could only get 2 drinks at a time so it was a matter of having to line up again for the next round. This took about 30min. to get served. There was a few waiters walking around with a tray of cocktails that we could grab without having to line up. I would give the drink service 5/10 The food was a buffet style and once again had to queue for food but each table was called individually so it avoided a mass rush so this was good thing as the line moved quite quickly and the food was good especially the Beef and the Pork. I would give the food 8/10. The show started after the meal, it was a combination of all the Pacific Island Nations traditions and dancing. Fire Dancing, Hula, Poi twirling and singing with a live Hawaiian Band and MC. Quite good but not fantastic. The Male performers were great but the females were OK but just going through the motions. The main female performer was fantastic and could really shake the grass. lol. Show I would give the show 7/10. Value for money 7/10. We have been to several Luau's over the years and this one is not a favourite. We also had some rain during the show and there was no shelter from the elements, oh well at least it was a warm night so it did worry us too much. The Back drop of the Bay was beautiful and the sunset stunning. Overall Rating I would give the Luau 7/10.Written May 30, 2023
- S1590CBmikem0 contributionsLuau Blues not to be celebrated.Liked sunset. liked dancers uh not much else. First of all it is way over priced at $180/person the only reason gave it a three star is because the 5 dancers worked soo hard. No traditional luau ceremonies. digging of the Pig, no Aloha greeting like that of coming to a family luau from true Hawaiian culture.. Hotel crams you in a space of apx x 50' x 50' @ apx 500 people you do the math or just think Sardines, Food very average no seconds please. Luau starts at 4pm with absolutely no protection from the sun at your table unless you get up and find shade. Dinner and small scale show last APX 2 hours. I heard of inflation but this is taking advantage of people.Written April 16, 2023

As a frequent traveler to the Islands and attendee of several Luaus this one for the money was the worst! I found out after the fact that general admission purchasers are routed around to the backside of the Luau grounds. They then get to wait another 30 minutes herded like cattle while a VIP ticket holder gets ushered in and can start accessing the open bar. Once let in us other folks get seated but have to get in line to eat as food is already being served? I felt like a second class citizen since I didn’t pay an extra 30 dollars. Poor way to treat folks that are still paying over $100 for a ticket. I would recommend other Luaus on Maui. This one doesn’t care about all of its nightly patrons unless you purchase the most expensive ticket they offer!!!!!!!!!!!

The hula and fire dancing were great! The thing that really ruined my evening was paying $120 to wait for the gates to be opened for over an hour. Then wait for the food, then waiting 40 minutes to get a drink at a so called open bar.
We were having a lovely day and vacation and very excited for our Valentine Luau. We were supposed to arrive at 5:30 we stood in line to check in, then stood in line for a photo, then again at 6:30 we stood in another line to enter to be seated in very uncomfortable plastic chairs not facing the stage. We then went to get in line for the buffet which was only about 20 minutes. We were thirsty as we had been standing around now for an hour and 40 minutes. I proceeded to go get drinks for my husband and I so he could eat the food warm. When I got to the bar they had 2 lines one for VIP and one for general admission ( we tried to upgrade before the luau but it was sold out $120 - $160 a ticket x 560 people stacked in a small area with 2 bartenders). By the time I got to the counter to order a drink the show had already started, so I and the rest of the thirsty herd were missing the show. Then I was told after waiting for 40 minutes for a drink that I could not get additional drinks to take that I would have to come back and wait in line again. The bartender proceeded to say it’s against Hawaii law to serve additional drinks at one time. I was ready to give up and just go back to our condo but remembered my poor husband was sitting eating dinner ( without me there and without a drink). The part of the sow that I did see was good but if my calculations are right this is a cattle feed where they are making over $65,000 a night packing suckers in like sardines. Don’t get me wrong, the show was nice. The buffet was decent but the lines and poor service were horrible. Find a restaurant that does a nice dance and dinner where you will have your own private table. Unless you enjoy being treated like you are cattle for $$$

Aloha Jennifer,
Thank you for providing your feedback. We are very sorry to have disappointed you. The luau is very popular, especially on holidays, and as such there were larger crowds and longer than normal wait times. As you did note, the show was enjoyable. As such we do hope that you will consider joining us again. We'd be happy to host you on a less busy date.

Weak pre-prepared mixes with a shot of well drinks thrown on top. Dinner was average at best. Deserts were mass produced junk. The actors did a decent job and tried their best, but it was basically a bunch of very basic hula dances that only the elderly seemed impressed by. The whole thing pretended to be some magical authentic Hawaiian experience but basically was “how can we get as much money off these people as possible and maximize our profit margin by making everything as cheap as humanly possible.”

I was celebrating a 10 year anniversary in Maui so my husband and I booked this show to celebrate. We had a wonderful time and enjoyed the experience very much . First off the atmosphere is gorgeous . The backdrop is the ocean and the timing of the show allows you to see the sunset. We had VIP seating which put us in first few rows so seating was really good. I give the performers an A ! The master of ceremony was an expert storyteller and musicians were talented. There were many different types of dances , my favorites were hula, fire dance and the happy dance. Servers were quick and friendly and drinks are free and endless. This could easily be a 5 of 5 with a few adjustments. The food for example is plentiful but was bland. They need to add seasoning ! And while the entertainment was excellent, there was a long period with no entertainment during dinner. It seems like they could’ve started the show a bit earlier while we were eating. Overall I’d definitely recommend !

What a great experience! We booked the "VIP" tour which allowed us to enter 30-45 minutes prior to the rest of the attendees and sit closer to the front, although I think most anyone who came later still had plenty of food and good views of the stage. As VIP, we also were able to get a family picture taken by their professional photographer (although buying a 8x10 copy will cost you $20). The bartender was extremely generous in pouring the alcohol, and drinks were unlimited. They actually start you off with 2 right off the bat!
The food was good but there wasn't a huge variety. The pork was delicious, though, so I was happy enough with the selections.
The dancing was fantastic! All were very enthusiastic and talented as the "told" the story of the island through the hula dance. The performances and evening ended with a fire dancer who had my wife cheering with delight. Our boys enjoyed the event as well. All-in-all it was an expensive but entertaining evening.

We are so grateful for the experience we had at the Myths of Maui Luau. Like most kids, it can be hard for ours to sit still for a couple of hours but the show was so fun, entertaining and beautiful - our kids were engaged the whole time. The stories they tell, along with the dances, were breathtaking. We walked away knowing so much more about Maui and the other Polynesian cultures too.
The buffet was extremely organized and delicious! They really take care of you and offer to have you try a little bit of everything. Try it while you can!
Make sure you bring cash to buy hand-made ornaments and trinkets from the Samoan lady near the exit.

We were extremely disappointed at this Luau. We have attended Germaine's and Chief's Luau's in the past and expected something similar. However, from the introductions til the very end, this seemed like an embarrassing social experiment. The singing performance and emceeing by the narrator was monotone and bad. They also only had 2 male performers that acted out each of the supposed Islands represented. Neither of which looked as if they spent any time in The culture and one was so Caucasian, he resembled Screech from Saved By the Bell. Seriously, just 2 male performers for the entire show and only 5 or 6 females. And the band was behind the lattice which left us believing that it was recorded music and no band whatsoever. For the $162 we paid for each of our 16 family members, this was ridiculous.
There was obviously so little effort put into this presentation and the entire event. For example, when you enter, they direct you to the buffet line and make no mention nor presentation about the dinner's feature, the pig nor the supposedly locally prepared staples. This looked like some kind of cafeteria food line. In fact, even the beverage service was lagging. The selection was very small and was basically watered down versions of over juiced mai tais etc. And they had last call at 7:15 while the performance was supposed to go til 9.
I would not recommend this luau whatsoever as it is an embarrassment to the good people and the rich Hawaiian culture. I will inform the hotel to not recommend this luau any longer and will persue a partial refund at the very least.

Luau had ok food and the entertainment was good. We felt though that we were crowded in so tight at the tables that we had no chance to turn around to watch the stage behind us...the main stage was good for viewing, but if you were seated with your back to the second stage you missed a good part of the performance. We were fortunate to have a hard working gal bringing our table drinks, but not all tables seemed to have that and when I saw the LONG lineup at the bar for drinks, I felt bad for those people...they would have missed part of their dinner with family or part of the show.

This luau was worse than one we went to go see when we were in Myrtle Beach South Carolina. It was boring, filled with long gaps of terrible music and they take a picture when you walk in and try to charge you $20 for it in the middle of the luau. They have great food but unfortunately that is the only good part of the luau. Their fire dancing was pretty mediocre as well for this being an authentic Hawaii Luau it was pretty bad save your money and go elsewhere. They have an open bar all night as well so maybe if you get drunk enough you wont realize how bad this show is.

We took a group of 16. I splurged and purchased VIP seating. We were front row - awesome seats for the show. The drinks were good & the buffet exceeded my expectations. This was a first trip to Hawaii for many of the group & attending the Luau the night before we left was an awesome way to finish up the trip. I’ve been to a number of Luaus and The Myths of Maui did not disappoint. I also recommend splurging on the VIP seating. We booked this luau mid April for a date in mid-June.

That would be cutting it way too close in my opinion. Depends also where you are docked. If off Lahaina, you would need to leave before 9pm. Might miss some of the show. If docked in Kahalui-don't even try it.

Is there a Luau that is more affordable maybe without so much hoopla on the west side possibly?
I don’t think we could eat or drink this value.
Please share your thoughts with me. I want to show her a great time but looking for something a bit more mellow with a beach and dance
Thanks Guys!
