    Great evening entertainment
What a great night out with friends in Hawaii. The performances were interesting, informative and entertaining. The dances especially the fire dances were amazing. The pre dinner entertainment involving the audience in local crafts was fun and set the scene for a friendly, fast paced evening. Highly recommended.

    Great fun, kind people.
All of us thoroughly enjoyed ourselves at Toa Luau! The food was delicious and the music, dancing, and cultural learning experiences were all excellent. But what left the biggest impression on us was the kindness of one of the male performers. We have a three year old son with autism, and despite wearing his noise reducing headset, he was having difficulty with the loudness of the performances. The dancer noticed his struggle, and took a moment to reposition the speaker closest to our table to face away from us. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts! That meant a lot.

    Authentic family tan Luau
From our Uber rider to the Luau we heard this was one of the most authentic Luaus left in Honolulu. Apparently some are discouraged by the distance and that’s not for no reason. It took us 60$ to get here and 95$ to get back after 8pm from Honolulu. Keep that in mind when considering driving here or taxi-ng here. Aside from the logistical issues, everyone was awesome here. The greeters, the servers, the performers, the bartenders and the mc! At the beginning we got to crack into a coconut, weave a head piece lei and watch them make coconut milk. I would do this again and again and again. Truly made me have appreciate the Polynesian culture and the richness of their traditions. I’m humbled by the hospitality they shared and their rich culture. Food was great! And there was plenty more as it was buffet style meaning you could be served more after. Everyone was extremely attentive in bringing you refills of water and food. You get dessert and truly I can’t think of a better way to have experienced something new while in Hawaii. I would recommend this event to anyone visiting Hawaii. You get an opportunity to tip your crew so bring your cash!

    The Best Luau Experience!
Toa Luau was the best experience of our Oahu vacation. It started with hand-on experiences, carving taro root, peeling green bananas, scraping coconuts and other cultural experiences. Then we were served incredible food, followed by fabulous entertainment. The emcee was so entertaining as well as informative, sharing the cultural details with a perfect touch of humor. There were guests of all ages and everyone seemed to enjoy the whole experience. I highly recommend spending your day at the Waimea Valley area, including the Toa Luau!

The best luau on the island!
This luau was AMAZING! My husband and I went with another couple and we loved every second of it. We went early and toured the Waimea Botanical Garden and waterfalls. Our husbands took their swim trunks and a towel and got in the waterfall. It was beautiful! Then we changed clothes and went to the luau. It was so much fun. Cousin Billy and his family made us feel like their family. The food was delicious and more than enough. They came around several times asking if we wanted seconds or thirds of anything. We were in Hawaii celebrating my birthday and our anniversary. Tao Luau recognized both events and gave us gifts for both. The entertainment was amazing as well. I would definitely recommend going to this luau!!

    MUST SEE, GREAT VALUE ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This was my 14 year old daughter's favorite memory from our 11-day Hawaii vacation, which included snorkeling, ziplining, whale watches, hiking and sea turtles! Would definitely recommend. Great experience all around for people of all ages. Cousin Eddie was the perfect host with a great blend of knowledge and humor. We loved how interactive it was, everyone got involved. It really was the perfect way to end our trip. It exceeded our expectations. The value can't be beat compared to many others on the island charging way more. We heard it was one of the best and we couldn't agree more. Plus it was awesome to meet and take pictures with everyone after. Definitely an experience we'll never forget. Thank you Toa Luau!

    Enjoyed Toa Luau!
I really enjoyed Toa Luau. I choose the early afternoon luau and arrived in the morning to see the gardens and Waimea Falls. The venue is nice, food is served plated and brought to your table and was very good! They also served Hawaiian hot chocolate that was smooth, rich and delicious! Performers were professional and entertaining. Happy to have chosen this luau for my Hawaiian trip 🌺 Mahalo!

Fantastic! I grew up in Hawai’i but moved a way 10 years ago and have been to many luaus in my life, but this one is the best! The family feel, the authenticity, the food, the people, every detail was wonderful! The staff handled every aspect from initial greeting to final farewell with warmth and Aloha!

    Best luau on Oahu!
Our entire family enjoyed this luau! Very entertaining and informational. Loved knowing we were supporting a local family business. Food was delicious and they were able to accommodate our gluten free and vegetarian diet restrictions. They even offered my son a second plate! There really isn’t a bad seat in the house. Would recommend the evening show since there are a fair amount of fire acts which look amazing in the dark.

    Fantastic location, friendly ohana
Fantastic luau experience. Perfect blend of entertainment and education. Energetic dancing and a personable host kept the pace. A unique location in the Waimea Valley means you can make a day off hiking through the botanical garden to the falls and enjoy a luau and the North shore all in the same day! Bring the ohana (family).

Had a great luau experience through Toa! All the performers were very friendly and treated each of us like family. We had a party of 8 (6 adults, 2 children under 4).

As a part of the luau fees, we got admission to Waimea Valley and were able to stroll through the botanical garden and enjoy the waterfall before all of the activities. I would recommend making sure you have enough time to do the walk/stroll before the luau - it helps set the mood.

At the entrance of the luau, we were greeted by some of the younger individuals who helped check us in. After we got checked in, we got our drink tickets and got our real orchid leis (which was not an extra expense). We were helped to our table and wanted to try some activities, but we were running a little late - so again, make sure you have enough time before the luau.

We saw the rock oven and Kava ceremony which were both interactive. I really enjoyed both cousins (Cece and Mateo) of our newly extended Ohana and their emcee skills! It really added to the experience.

The food was delicious and we were stuffed after the first round. They offered us more, and I would've taken them up on the offer if I hadn't already eaten so much!

We got to see various Polynesian dances from Hawaii, Tonga, Tahiti, Samoa, New Zealand and a fire dance. It was a sight to see! The dancers who performed were also the staff who had helped us throughout the evening.

Overall, they really made us feel taken cared of and it was a great luau experience. This is a smaller luau as it is family-owned and driven, but I would definitely recommend this to my friends and other family if they asked for a luau.

Spent a fair amount to go to this “local luau”, stayed in Pūpūkea, and we came away enthralled by this performance! Great cultural demonstrations and participation. Hilarious MC! Wonderful food. But wait! The show was exceptional with wonderful costumes and energetic, happy dancers and menacing warriors!
First luau on fifth or sixth visit! I embrace this great culture! Why’d we wait this long?

After reading reviews of the Toa Luau, it seemed like an obvious choice, and the experience did not disappoint! Your admission gets you access to the beautiful Waimea Valley; I wish we’d allotted more time for this because the walk to the water fall was absolutely gorgeous, and we didn’t even make it to the botanical gardens. Definitely allow several hours for this, and there are bathrooms by the water fall or near the luau to change out of your suit if you swim by the falls (which is worth it).

Upon entering the luau, you’re invited to multiple stations to learn about the culture. Everyone is so friendly and informative. You’re then invited to a cooking demonstration, amongst other things. The emcee, cousin Eddie is humorous, and makes you feel so welcome.

The meal was delicious and plentiful! Our favorite part was the dancing! There was such beautiful athleticism, and Cousin Eddie did a great job educating the audience of the nuances that made each dance special, and unique to the parts of Polynesia that were being highlighted. Our 6 and 8 year old were captivated the whole time!

I am so glad we chose Toa Luau, and would definitely visit again!

I have been waiting 9 days for a refund for a luau I cancelled a month in advance. I have emailed them twice as well as called and left a message and they have completely ghosted me. I have since had to dispute this transaction with my credit card company.

I would not recommend doing business with an unethical company like them. I have never encountered such brazen thievery with a business. Shame on them.

One word comes to mind when I think of my experience at Toa Luau.... WOW! The environment was so intimate and made you really feel like part of the family. The engaging cultural activities were easy to participate in for anyone who wanted to. From the time you enter the venue you are treated like a member of the family not just a ticket/guest number. The “adventure of the Islands” through dance and narration was engaging educational and very entertaining! Why stood out to me the most was the dedication of each and every member of the staff or Toa Luau Ohana was dedicated to make sure everything was completed in a timely manor and assisted in all aspects of the luau. That is impressive and makes the luau really feel like you’re being hosted by the ohana. From greeting, to cultural demonstrations and activities, to clearing your plates at dinner, to dancing and performing, and then wishing you well on your visit the Toa Luau Ohana is second to none! When visiting this family you enter as a tourist/guest but leave as part of the Ohana! Great work! I will definitely be back my next visit Hawaii! 🤙🏼

Best cultural event we have been to- the staff were exceptionally friendly and chatty, made us feel incredibly welcomed. The show was fantastic as were the demos and the food was pretty good as well. Bring a jacket it if looks like rain, this event is held rain or shine. Cannot say enough wonderful things about the dances- truly great performers well worth the price of admission!

The Toa Luau was beyond expectations! We have seen parts of the big luau at the Hilton and thought it seemed ok, but very crowded and very commercialized. We saw that show for free walking by, so really the people were just paying for an overpriced meal. Toa Luau was completely different! First of all, rather than being sandwiched between large tall buildings, this was set in the beautiful botanical gardens. We had the "cheap seats", but were really close to the stage and could see everything. From the time we entered until the moment we left we felt like we were being welcomed in by a family. Not only was it a show, but it was a history lesson of the Polynesian islands. We started out learning how to braid palm leaves into headbands and learned about different styles preparing food. We also got to see some of the guys climb the tall coconut trees. When we sat down to eat the food was excellent and unlimited. There was Kalua pork, chicken, macaroni salad, Hawaiian rolls, papaya, pineapple, grapes, haupia, and coconut cake. They also came around with some caffeine infused hot chocolate straight from the local cocoa trees. The staff came around to the tables and actually spent time getting to know us and talking about where they were from. They made us feel like we were welcome to guests to their family gathering. all of the performers honestly looked like they were enjoying what they were doing even though they do this every single night. This is absolutely one of the highlights of the entire trip.

Make sure you leave time for the botanical gardens before hand. We took 2 hours, but had wished we came 4 hours early.

This is the first luau I have ever been to, but I was really impressed with the hosts and the way they made you feel at home - it wasn't contrived or just for appearances, they were quite genuine in their welcome, and bent over backwards to make our experience as enjoyable as possible.
We were actually quite late to arrive, and missed out on all their interactive activities, of which there were many apparently, from crushing cacao beans to make chocolate, braiding or weaving, how to use pois, etc, however we were accommodated during the evening when one of the staff "Big Joe" taught us how to weave a headband, and one of our party who was keen to have kava was given some to try.
The food was delicious and plentiful, and the variety of Polynesian cultures showing their traditional dance was excellent - personally I thought the drummers really gave the show a real feel of excitement, and the MC of the evening was fun, interactive with the audience and inclusive of all, young and old.
I would definitely return (and arrive early next time!!) and it was definitely value for money...

Aloha Rowena, we did receive your call notifying us beforehand that you won't make it on time. We thank you for letting us know, although of course we wish you didn't miss the activities. It's okay, we make it special each time so that when you come back you won't feel you missed anything at all. Thanks for coming to our luau. You're family now, so please call us, your Toa Luau Ohana, when you book your next luau, so we could get you the best deal on tickets. Hope to see you soon, mahalo!

We went on a Wednesday so we could enjoy the Waimea Falls (beautiful waterfall-Omgosh) first and then attend the luau after. This luau is family owned and operated. Even kids help out and perform. It’s heartwarming. From Hawaii to Samoa and even Tahiti and New Zealand, several Polynesian cultures are represented here and it makes for a wonderful learning experience for young and old. From learning how to cook the Polynesian way, to dancing, family rearing/providing, and even eating, we learned so so so much. Of all the amazing things we got to do on Oahu, this is by far the most memorable. They made my family and I feel like true ohana and inspired us to believe strong families make strong villages which make strong societies! Man, powerful! Oh and they’re killing it with social distancing and covid precautions. This is much smaller than most other luaus I’ve attended so it feels totally safe. Everyone is spread out and has masks + hand washes and/or sanctities frequently. Just do yourself a favor and splurge would ya?! Buy the seats closest to the stage, or at least the second closest. You won’t regret it!!! Life changing!!!

This was such a fun way to celebrate our anniversary. It was definitely worth the money, considering you get free admission to Waimea botanical garden and waterfall before the luau begins. It’s also not just a dinner show, you get to participate in coconut and banana husking, making your own palm leaf headbands, and a cooking demonstration before the dinner even begins.

The staff is amazing, incredibly talented, and our host was SO funny with super memorable jokes. All the dances performed were mesmerizing, they take you through different traditions from Hawaii, Tonga, New Zealand, and Tahiti. Dinner was all delicious, and we both enjoyed the pork as well as the chicken, and I really loved the coconut desserts. I would go back if I could, I feel like I was smiling the whole time from the great energy and the wonderful performers.
