Overview
An independent trip to the beautiful Muir Woods National Monument requires advance reservations, and finding parking in Sausalito can be difficult. Easily visit both must-see locations with this guided tour from San Francisco, which includes skip-the-line access at Muir Woods and a hassle-free stop at the charming waterfront town. At each destination, enjoy free time away from your group, so you can explore at your own pace.
What to Expect
Start your Muir Woods National Monument and Sausalito tour with pickup from Union Square. Drive over the Golden Gate Bridge and catch sight of Alcatraz on the way to Muir Woods.

Upon arrival, bypass the entrance lines and head inside to wander the forest grounds at your own speed. See California’s old-growth redwood trees, and take in the fresh air.

Next, get back in your vehicle for the ride to the Sausalito waterfront. Again, you can explore at your own pace as you walk the waterfront. Pop into art galleries or snag a snack or a drink (at your own expense).

Afterward, your tour ends with a ride back to San Francisco. If you’ve upgraded to take the ferry, you’ll ride enjoy a boat ride back to the city.

Great Tour

Our bus driver from Tower Tours was great. Muir Woods was awesome and the trees are amazing. Tour returned via Sausalito and you can choose to take the Ferry back to SF instead of the bus so you can spend more time in Sausalito.

Great tour.

We took this tour starting at 0945 and our guide/drive (Joe) was the making of the trip. His commentary and dry humour really added to the whole experience. Oft time on the trip he would make reference to something you could see and say he...More

Well worth the time

Sausalito is a small town the other side of the Golden Gate bridge so there are some wonderful views both entering, on and leaving the bridge. The redwood trees are simply huge and at times it's almost impossible to see the tree canopy. Despite loving...More

Pretty sure the ferry ticket is an all day. One main Street along the water’s edge. Lots of shops to look at and great eating places. You could spend a long time here if the weather is nice and sunny.

Depends on the time of year. Check the website for exact details. Wildfire season and then heavy rains in the winter means that access to this site is not always available. Always check their website or call the visitors... More
