We recently took the day trip with Britney to Muir Woods and wine tasting in Sonoma & Napa Valley. Britney was the perfect guide, and kept us informed and engaged during the drive and had a good playlist.
The stop at Muir Woods was a lovely breath of fresh air (no pun intended) compared to the rest of our stay in SF.
Wine tasting started at 2pm and the first of the stops (Roche) was prefereable to our stop in the second vineyard. If you are hoping for any insights into wine-making process, this is probably not the trip for you (Incredible Adventures also does a full day trip to Sonoma / Napa Valley). We had 4 samples of some very nice Wines in the first and 3 in the second stop. Unfortunately there were no outdoor seats so the group stood, and were a little less attented to than the first. The wines here were also very good, and reasonably priced. We bought a bottle when it became evident the samples had stopped (wasn't pointed out). Other than those 2 minor vineyard specific quibbles, I couldn't fault the day.
A special thanks to Britney too for 2 stops to get a good shot of the Golden Gate Bridge. It's my second time in SF and the pictures from these stops were really great. Would highly recommend this tour if you're looking for a good mixture of outdoors and sampling some wines.

There were things I loved about this tour and things I didn't. First off let me say our tour driver/guide was so Awesome...I wish I could remember her name, she was from Chicago and lived in SF for 20 years, I am so sorry I can't remember her name, we loved her. She knew her stuff, was funny and sweet. I would recommend her to anyone. We stopped for pictures near the Golden gate bridge, which was beautiful. The tour was pretty good, but VERY long. It took over 12 hours which was exhausting and a lot of driving. We went to Muir Woods, which was nice, took a little hike on our own. I would not say this is a must do, but we enjoyed it. Next we had a quick luch in Sonoma, great places but we did not have much time to enjoy it due to one of the people in our party not coming back on time from Muir woods. The first winery was in Sonoma, Robledo family wineries...do not ever go here! It was terrible...horrible service, one of the wines tasted like terpentine and nothing was worth buying especially not at $40 a bottle. We didn't even finish our tasting because it took over 90 min to taste 4 nasty wines. Our next winery was in Napa at Bouchaine winery. We sat on the patio in comfortable furniture, and were first given a sparking wine to try. We were then allowed to pick 5 from their list. The host was very knowledgeable and let us basically taste anything we wanted. We did not have a bad wine, they were all excellent. We went in to buy our favorite and saw one that was not on the list. He let us taste it without question and we bought a bottle of it. The wine was a bit expensive, I want to say my only disappointment was their Cabernet was $108 a bottle and we couldn't justify that. We did not get back to the hotel until 8:30 after being stuck in traffic for a while and taking everyone to their door. Overall a good outing, just long and one terrible winery. Again we loved the driver and chatting with our group from U.S., Canada and Australia. If you are looking for wine tasting this may not be the best tour for you.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. It is wonderful to hear that you enjoyed your guide and she provided an informative and entertaining tour! It is unfortunate that a member of the group was late getting back from Muir Woods and caused less time in Sonoma. We are glad you enjoyed some of the wine you tasted. For the ones that you didn't enjoy, I'm sorry to hear, but everyone has a different palate.

Mitch was a fantastic guide - so knowledgable and proactive. He gave us tonnes of info about places on our route between stops and made everyone feel very welcome. So glad we chose this tour, we particularly loved the stop at Muir Woods to see some adorable wildlife and breathtaking views. We also now have a brand new love and appreciation for Californian wine. What a wonderful day!

Booked trip through TripAdvisor/Viator but there must have been some communication mixup between them and Incredible Adventures since they went to the wrong hotel to pick us up, and we wound up waiting outside our hotel for an hour. It would have been okay if the driver/guide (Mitch) had not kept insisting we were in the wrong place. Even after pickup when I showed him our confirmation with our hotel clearly listed, he never apologized.
Anyway, the tour itself was very nice. Muir Woods was stunning and the two wineries (one in Sonoma and one in Napa) were in lovely settings with friendly and informative personnel. We made a stop in Sonoma for lunch between Muir Woods and the wineries (self pay) and there were many varied restaurant options.

Our tour guide Jay was wonderful. He was extremely nice, and very knowledgeable. He gave us good in-depth information on the area and everywhere we visited
It was raining when we got to Muir’s Wood, but we still had a lovely hike with our umbrellas. We stopped for lunch in Sonoma which was wonderful. We went to two wineries, both of them excellent. We had no rain once we crossed over to Sonoma
I would have to say it was a wonderful tour, and would highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to visit this area.
Also, you can’t beat doing two different wine tastings and have somebody else do the driving back to San Francisco 👍

We did a lot in one day but never felt rushed from place to place. Starting with on-time pickup at our hotel by our friendly tour guide Mitch, we were off for a great day. A morning stop at Muir Woods allowed plenty of time to see impressive redwoods. We then headed off to Sonoma and had about 90 minutes for lunch on our own in Sonoma Square. In the afternoon, we spent time at two small wineries where we not only sampled a variety of wines but also learned about the family history of one and had the chance to walk through the vineyard at the other. On the way back to San Francisco, we stopped for breathtaking views of the Golden Gate Bridge and the city beyond. Through it all, Mitch was helpful and informative, doing everything from taking great family photos to learning our wine preferences and making sure the wineries presented us with good tasting options. While this might sound like an exhausting day, to us, it felt perfectly paced, with time to relax and enjoy the different stops. Highly recommended, especially if you are on a short visit to the Bay Area and want to take in a few sights in a hassle-free way.

Loved the whole trip. There was only 8 passengers so it was quite welcoming and comfortable so it was like travelling with friends. The driver was fantastic with a history lesson on everything. The woods were great with a quiet mystical hush to them .. The Mexican restaurant was fantastic and the wine tasting was comfortable and informative. definitely one of my favorite days in San Francisco and I would recommend

The Muirwood Forest was nice but I thought the wine tours were cheaply done for the amount paid. The wine tours should include at least crackers in between tastings. The wine was not tasty at either location and I think only one couple bought any. Very cheaply done

Great driver, wonderful timing at each location, and good wineries.
We were picked up and dropped off from our hotel which was extremely convenient. We had a small group that was easily able to get to know each other and make for a great day.
We were happy to be able to see the Golden Gate Bridge & Redwoods- a nice bonus!
We enjoyed two wineries, one in Sonoma and one in Napa. Our stop in Sonoma was lacking in the way of service but the second stop in Napa made up for the experience in Sonoma. This is no fault of the companies but a suggestion would be to include some nibbles to do a pairing.
Our driver was Lisa who was absolutely one of the best guides I’ve ever had. She shared so much history about the area, our destinations and a ton of fun facts! I went with this company because I heard how amazing the drivers were and Lisa truly delivered!

Muir Woods with Napa & Sonoma Wine Country tour. This was an amazing tour but our tour guide, Mitch, really made this a memorable experience. Mitch was personable, attentive, and gave us interesting history about the wineries, redwoods, and San Francisco.
The trip itself was great. The Muir Woods was beautiful and breathtaking. Be sure to bring a camera because there are plenty of photo opportunities. The wine tours were nice and a good way to try a variety of wines while also learning about the vineyard and wine making process.
10/10 recommend this tour and try to request MITCH to make your experience over the top!

Can I and should I bring my kids, 13yo girl and 5yo boy, on this trip? Just want to see Muir Woods tbh. Not fussed about the wine tour. Only in SF for 3 nights and only hiring a car after that, from SF to head down Route 1 to Santa Barbara then LA. So... in summary, won't have a car in San Francisco but want to take kids to Muir Woods. Advice?

I would see if they have a specific tour for Muir Woods, kids would be bored at wine tour and don’t know if they would let them go
Do you stick together as a group when at Muir Woods or are you left on your own? Concerned that as a single traveler I may get lost?
