- CarolinaB36350 contributionsGood tour, long trip and remember TASTINGS NOT INCLUDEDIf you're more into experiencing nature rather than getting drunk, this is your tour! If you do choose to pay for tastings, expect to spend at least $20-$25 per stop/winery. It is a long trip from San Francisco to Napa (that's how it felt for me), I want to say we made 2 hours to get there (thus, 2 hours to get back). However, the trip is nice, the view amazing, beautiful landscapes and our guide shared some fun facts and information about the area. The first 2 stops were ok, we didn't really care much for the last one.Written October 9, 2019

- jasmeetr0 contributionsBest wineries in one tourI am glad I took this tour and none of the other ones where the selection of wineries is not the best. There are a couple of things I likes about this tour 1. Small group- this is a small group tour in a luxury van with max 12 people. Its easier to travel and more fun when you are not in a large group as you save time in making roll calls 2. Budget- inspite of being small group tour with the selection of best wineries, it's in budget .Its a no frills attached tour. The entry to two wineries was free and for the third one could pay at site which included the wine tastings. 3.best wineries - The tour covered 3 main wineries-Robert Madhavi, V Sattui and Castello Di Amorosa It was a good tour, the only thing I wished was if they could make it a full day tour than a half day.Written May 2, 2019
- Marie H0 contributionsRelaxing tour to three Napa wineriesOur guide, Zack, picked us up on time at the Union Square Macy's in a nice Mercedes conversion van. Our group was small, just 6 people, which was perfect. We stopped for a photo at the Golden Gate bridge before heading through Sonoma to Napa. Zack told interesting stories and was informative, but didn't chatter the whole time. We had ample time for a visit at the 3 wineries: Castello Di Amorosa Winery, V. Sattui Winery And Robert Mondavi Winery. We had a $5 discount at Castello and a $15 voucher toward food or wine at V. Sattui, which had a nice deli and picnic tables. The wine at all three places was delicious and you got to choose from a menu, not a pre-selected flight. Comfortable, relaxing, and informative. Good day out!Written March 20, 2019
- sk8ergurl20010 contributionsDO NOT book this tourExcited to visit the wineries on the list, Skywest Wine Tours cancelled our trip with less than 24 hours notice. Our tour was cancelled because it was only going to be 2 of us on the tour - nowhere on the website or viator.com does it state that this is allowed to occur or else we would have reconsidered. The tour could have absolutely ran with just the two of us. This is absolutely unacceptable. We booked more than a month in advance and the company had ample time to cancel the tour or give us a different date. We planned our entire trip around this wine tour, flew in on certain days, booked an extra hotel night in San Francisco, etc. and was not given any appropriate notice to book another tour. Completely disappointed. What a downer on our vacation.Written December 10, 2018

I was somewhat disappointed with the information provided on the website. The site says 2 wine tastings are included but this is not the case. None are included, it had to be paid separately on each winery. What’s included is a $16.00 lunch voucher at the 2nd winery. You could use it to pay towards the wine tasting fee. Also included is a guided tour of Castello di Amorosa. The Robert Mondavi winery although beautiful, was disappointed as we didn’t know we couldn’t drink the bottle of wine we bought at their store on their premises. Very strange as we were able to do that on the prior winery. That was very disappointing, would have been a nice ending to the trip. The tour does include 1 bottle of water per person and a guided tour of Castello di Amorosa. Would have liked to spend more time on this one as it was a beautiful location with lots to see. The driver was very nice and knowledgeable, appreciated all his personal reviews of the different wineries and wines.

Sorry for this confusion, we updated our tour just last week January 10th and you booked your tour before January 10th, so what happened, you purchased the old package that cost $105 including lunch only but by the time you printed the voucher this week, it showed the new updates with 2 wine tastings included, sorry for any confusion and we are happy that you had a great time at the first 2 wineries.

My sister's flight to California was delayed so we couldn't make to wine tour that same day. The company would not give us a refund or a partial refund. We had no control over the flight delay, that caused us to miss the tour. No amount of pleading would change their mind. Will never recommend this tour to anybody.

That's not the reason you told us when you called, we never heard about your sister or flight delay, our record shows that you called the night before around 5:00pm asking for a refund because you're staying in Sacramento city and you don't want to drive all the way to San Francisco on the day of the tour and that was your choice because we are based in San Francisco, your sister was with you because you asked us if you could drive your car directly to the wineries and meet the tour guide in Napa Valley because it's closer to Sacramento and you asked us for a partial refund. we couldn't issue a refund or partial refund because it's less than 24 hours. please be reasonable.

We did the tour of 3 winery. The first was Castello di Amorosa where our driver explained us something without having an expert guide. The third was the Mondavi winery. We arrived there at 13.30 and we had only one hour (until 14.30) to visit and to taste some wine. THIS TOUR DOESN’T ORGANIZE NOTHING!!!!! So we paid a minitour of half an hour (from 14.00 to 14.30) to visit and taste. When we finished (at 14.35) the driver wasn’t, he left us there.... CRAZY!!!!!!! So we came back to S Francisco with Uber (more 100 $).
DO NOT BOOK THIS TOUR!!!! Go with a private car, it’s better!!!

Im not sure if you complaining about the tour or about you been left behind in Napa, if you didn't like the castle that's your opinion and sorry if it didn't fit your expectations, our customers love the castle and what we understand from our tour guide that you are from Italy, so of course you didn't like it because you have too many castles in your back back home, if you didn't like the tour guide, next time spend more money and hire a professional guide. your second complaint about the bus left you in Napa, do you think the driver left you behind on purpose? our report shows the bus left the last winery at 2:47pm that's mean you been late 47 minutes, you supposed to be back at 2:30pm, the bus has a GPS that monitor the map and the time so don't keep saying you came out on time because we have the evidence, the driver was looking for you inside and outside for more than 15 minutes, he called your phone number but was out of service because its international number, he did the best he can and he is not crazy as you called him in your comment, you showed no consideration for all other customers was inside the bus waiting for you sitting under 96 degree, it's your responsibility to come back on time and we highly recommend next time to respect the schedule for any tour.

The tour guide - Zach was so rude to us. My mom is 70 years old and he asked her to run and even though we were just 1 minute late. When I told him we were only 1 minute late, he threaten to leave us in Napa and told us we were so lucky that he didn’t leave us there. What kind of service was that???

Your review doesn't make any sense, do you think people will believe you that we push a 70 years old to Run over one minute late, please be more reasonable, also I don't know how can you remember one minute if this tour took a place last year and you just posted your review this year, you must have a strong memory to remember just a portion of your story.

Zach picked us up at our hotel. He is very knowledgeable about SFO/Napa. We really enjoyed visiting with him on the way out to Napa to learn about the city, Napa & Sonoma. Enjoyed the wine tastings - great to get there before the crowds. Lunch was fantastic. It's basically 2 hours to Napa & 2 hours back to San Fran, so you stay about 1.5 hours at each winery. Careful how much you drink because it's a long way back to San Fran! Thank you Zach for such a great trip!!

My wife and I took the winery tour and tasting in April 2018. The castle is a replica of an Italian castle in Tuscany. The tour was excellent and the wine tasting very comprehensive, although touristy.

A must stop on your wine trail! The castle is exceptional, a mix of old and new made to look like it came straight from the old ages. On the day we were there, it was sporadically rainy, creating some of the most beautiful rainbows creating a fairy book view. We did the wine tasting with the full tour including the tunnels and wine from the barrel. Our tour guide Audi was extremely knowledgeable about the castle, and wine, even taught us wine-enthusiasts a few things we didn’t already know.

My wife and I selected this tour for a number of reasons; quality of vehicle and group size, the itinerary and winery selection, ease of pick up (location) and ability to cancel within 24 hours.
Jan was our tour guide and was really great. It's obvious she loves what she does and enjoys explaining the history of the Napa and the intricacies of wine making !
I thought we had taken a wrong turn and landed in Tuscany with our visit to Castello Amorosa . The detail that has gone into making this establishment look and feel like a winery in Tuscany is really special and the owner Dario Sattui must be congratulated for bringing his vision to reality.
The wines we tried here were all excellant and we enjoyed our short time at this winery very much.
Lunch was provided by means of a voucher at the other Sattui winery close to down town and the quality of the food provided was very good. Fresh Italian inspired rolls and sandwiches, cheeses and deli goods and the voucher was more than adequate. We did not sample any wines here but I understand from other guests on the tour that the wines were very good.
Our 3rd and last winery was Robert Mondavi wines. They have grouped some of their wines so you can select from white wines grouped together, red wines or a mix of both. We selected the group of wines which was the Staff choice and had these wines together with a small cheese platter.
I was particularly looking forward to visiting the Mondavi winery as I have tried some of their wines back home in Oz, but I must say both my wife and I enjoyed the wines and the winery more at Castello Amoros.
It is a long day as it's such a long drive, just under 2 hours each way which prevents any additional winery visit which would have been nice. Overall a great day and would recommend this tour with this company .

Very well organised and executed tour with great atmosphere and fun on the bus - nice playlist! Fantastic wineries with very interesting histories and very enjoyable tastings and lots of own time to wander, take photos, shop, etc. As an added bonus our guide Zack added a fourth winery visit - a real case of keeping the best wine(ry) till last.

How much are the fees? Is there a scheduled stop for lunch?
Written June 29, 2019
There is a $25 wine tasting fee required at Castello di Amorosa. This is for 5 premium wines. And they were very good and the castle itself is worth it. The other two wineries are optional. We didn’t do the others but I noticed it was about $20 at the other ones. Lunch is scheduled at the second winery. You have a $15 per person voucher to buy whatever you want from the deli—sandwich, salad, lasagna, drink, etc.
