    SCAM / FRAUD
I've been on firework cruise on July 4th, 2021. I paid more than $1300 for a party of four for a nice sky deck seating, dinner, etc. It's turned out they completely overbooked the vessel and had to use other ferry boats without skydeck or seating for everyone. The dinner was served cold in plastic containers. They didn't provide any safety briefing or explained where the life jackets are. They delayed departure by 1.5 hours. This is definitely scam as the service they provided was far cry from what they advertised. Don't even think to book anything with them.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS TRASH COMPANY
TERRIBLE. This company is a joke. They shouldn't be allowed to even operate. I've bought the Sunset Cruise tour with Sky Deck access thinking that it would be a remarkable experience with my family since we were in NY just for that weekend. This trash company screw up with our Saturday. We were standing in line from 6:30pm until 08:10pm and our boat was not even at the dock. The crew was rude and only telling us to wait because apparently they have oversold the tickets for that tour and were trying to figure things out. After 8:10pm a very old boat, seemed to be sinking, was at the dock full of people. They told us they would unload the boat and we would start our "Sunset Cruise". What time were we suppose to start our Sunset Tour? 8:30/9:00pm???? This company is not delivering what they are selling. It is very bad organized, not as advertised at all. AVOID THIS SCAM if you do not want to ruin your family/friends experience in NY. Upon contacting them many, many times via email and phone, they responded they were sorry and the only option would be rescheduling it. First, I DO NOT LEAVE ON THEIR BACKYARD TO SIMPLY RESCHEDULE IT. Second, not even if they give me for free I'd trust on them again. LIBERTY CRUISE NYC IS AN ABSOLUTE RIP OFF ***STAY AWAY***

    A COMPLETELY RIP OFF COMPANY
AVOID THIS COMPANY. THEY ARE A RIP OFF I wish we could give them negative stars because that's what they deserve. I booked a Sunset Cruise with Sky Deck seating option. Boarding was suppose to start at 6:30pm. We were standing there in line till 08:10pm and nothing. When the crew was questioned, they were rude and only telling us to wait. Attempted to contact customer service many times, they are rude over the phone and very slow in responding by email. No refunding options are provided. This company is not delivering what they have been selling. AVOID THIS TRASH COMPANY, DO NO WASTE YOUR TIME AND $

Straight garbage, scam, do not even think about buying a ticket.
My husband, friends, and I bought tickets to the New Year’s Eve cruise, thinking “gonna start the new year on a boat, watching fireworks, and drinking at an open bar!” Well our plan was thwarted pretty much right away, there wasn’t enough room on the tiny boat, after waiting a lot longer than was needed. (There is another review about being on the boat that night.) There were so many people on that boat, all of the seats were full people were standing shoulder to shoulder, for four hours? No. Hard no. There was also suppose to be an all you can eat buffet, HOW? While we were getting closer to the boat, I asked an employee, “is there even room for everyone?” He said back to be, “yeah right there.” It was two booth seats, that the twenty people in front of us were to fight over. I grumbled back to him and he looked at me and said “yeah, I know it’s super crappy.” He didn’t use the word crappy, he used the swear version of it. Even their employees think it’s super crappy what they are doing! Don’t buy the tickets to this greedy, garbage cruise line, you’ll regret it. Also check out their old travel advisor, that’ll paint the true picture!

    Great trip, informative tour guide.
The day was rainy, but the trip was delightful in a fully enclosed and heated cabin. Jack did a great job of guiding us through the historical significance of what we were seeing. awesome tour.

Best value for money in NYC
I must admit I did this expecting not much more than a touristic money grab, and I was surprised by how excellent it was, not just for the views and the duration, but also for the excellence of the guide who must’ve talked for a good 2 hours non stop, giving a load of interesting facts and stories about manhattan, jersey and Brooklyn. Loved it!

    WAY overpriced for the experience
We paid over 200$ a person for this sub par experience. First off I would like to say that the CREW was amazing... but clearly this is a large company so far removed from the consumer experience that it's just trying to make an extra buck every which way they can, regardless of the quality. This boat was small... it had one working bathroom with one stall for everyone on the ship... there was another bathroom that you literally couldn't use because it was a BROOM CLOSET WITH AN OVERFLOWING TOILET IN IT... it was cold... it was advertised as OPEN BAR but was only beer and wine and if you wanted hard liquor it was 15$ each!! That is literally not "open bar," not everyone could even get on the boat that bought tickets because there wasn't enough room for everyone INSIDE. Yeh... they were expecting people to sit outside for 4 hours, on a dinner cruise, in freezing temperatures and hail. At least we got on line early enough to be inside. If those were my plans for the evening and I had to turn around and go home i'd be even more pissed than I am now. We were supposed to board at 9PM and didn't get on until like 9:30PM because they were running late and it was freezing and hailing on us, and some people didn't even get on... I'm sure this company is just fine enough for a quick daytime tour around the Statue of Liberty but DO NOT use them for anything "special," there were 4 of us so it cost us almost 1,000$ for the night and what we got was SOOOOO shabby...... Shabby is the best word I could use to describe it.

    Loved The Cruise! Great Value!
The cruise was great and great for the price. The narrator was excellent and very knowledgeable. No matter how cold it is go to the top for the best views and Pictutes. Waste of money if you don’t. Only reason not 5 stars was difficulty finding the location to get on the boat. Had to ask multiple locals working along the way. No signs that say Liberty Cruise that we could see. Other than that I highly recommend this tour! Oh and do the 3pm in the winter. Catch great sunset pics!

    Christmas Brunch
Brought my wife to the city, for a special Christmas treat. Spent the extra money for "premium" service. Premium was far overbooked. Ended up seated on the lower deck. Upper deck Mimosas were full sized. We got half sized glasses. Mimosas ran out 1/2 hour into the cruise. My experience was far from "premium"! I drove 4 hours for this? (My reason for coming to the city fell far short of my hopes). I would not recommend spending the extra money for "premium" service.

    I Smell a rat
If this New York water tours is what was liberty cruise beware. How can a company that has been trading so long only have around 200 reviews? The experience my wife and I had was nothing short of a rip off. Sold a Two hour sail on line and only received a 45 minute trip on a very dirty dated boat, windows that you couldn’t see through for greasy hand and head marks, a load speaker system that you could not hear. Yes we got to see the sights but that was it. There must be far better companies out there. The staff seemed nice enough and I feel for them because after being ripped off they got no tip. Beware and research before you book.

Very poor, wouldn't leave any stars if there was an option. Waited over an hour past scheduled departure time in -5oc temperature with very poor communication from staff for the boat to arrive, to then be told that the restrooms on board were also out of order. Cruise longer than advertised we couldn't even get on the boat as had prior appointment for what was meant to be special birthday occasion. Would not recommend this company at all! Refund policy doesnt exist either so beware!

Please don't buy from them. They scammed us we still have tickets for the liberty cruise. We went yesterday around 3 45 for the 5 I clock cruise as they advertised on their page. As we went they refuse to board us and said there is no 5 o'clock ..
We said What that's what you advertise they said oh we are not talking it today at 5 come tomorrow or some other day... we were like we are tourists we cannot...
The guy just laugh and said "nothing can be done" and send us to dock 3. Where there were guy who is boarding everyone for cash..
After a while I saw same guy high five him and went away...
So this is the scam they are Rude.. and cheater company.

When we walked into Battery Park, we were immediately and aggressively approached by a few men who seemed to be there to help direct us in where to go to the ferry to see the Statue of Liberty. They told us there was a 3 hour wait for the regular trip, but they offered a nice 1 hour express trip without any waiting.
One of the extremely friendly salesman ran myself and my 3 adult children over to the front of the bus, and made us believe he was hurrying to get us on this last bus to the marina for the next ride. He hurriedly had me pay 150.00 for the 4 of us...then after I signed the credit card info,he immediately changed his whole demenor . I then proceeded to get onto the bus and he said " Whoa Whoa whoa... you need to wait for the next bus!!!"
And would not let me board. He told us another bus should be coming in 10-20 minutes and we could take that one instead.
An HOUR later the next bus came to take us to the dock to the boat..., as we were about to get on we were told the bus was full and we would have to catch the NEXT ONE !!
I wanted my money back at this point and they just ignored me and said " the bus will be here in 20 minutes" then disappeared again. There was now about 20 of us waiting.
Once the bus finally came back it took us to a sketchy old marina where the boat was. It was dirty and unkept. The bridge walking into the boat was dangerous, being held by a guy with a rope Bathrooms were disgustingly filthy. There was no room left inside on the overcrowded boat so we had to sit outside on the top in 30 degree weather.
We then had to wait another 45 minutes for the bus to go back and get another load of poor souls to pile on the already overcrowded boat.
Once we took off and the tour guide starting speaking he didn't speak clearly at all or make a lot of sense. At one point he was saying how if guys want to get girls in NYC, they have to tell them they have pretty hair... if girls want to get a guy they should look at their sneakers and say your shoes are "hot"... what?!?
The speakers kept breaking up so you could make out a few sentences he said and then it would cut out again.
The hour long ride went a torturing 50 minutes, yet it took up to 4 hours and most of our day in disappointment and in frustration . What a WASTE OF SO MUCH TIME AND SO MUCH MONEY!!!AWFUL!!!!

I was bombarded by the water tours reps as soon as I came out of the station at Bowling Green. They insisted the tour included headphones and docked on staton island and the statute of Liberty. We clarified this as we were meeting family there and they were adamant we could get off and get on another boat later as they ran every 30mins. They said there was free hot drinks and doughnuts. However all of this information was false. The coach dropped us in a very precarious area, there was no complimentary drinks or food and the tour did not stop anywhere just cruised up and down the river. The guide (Tony) was racist and sexist and made horrendous comments about all NY women being fat and ugly, white women being loose and suggested that NY men were sleazy and planning to rob you. The tour was appalling. We had to wait for 40mins for the coach to pick us up. The whole trip was a waste of time and money considering other tours offer a trip there for $18 and you get to look around the islands. I would never recommend this trip to anyone.

This is my last time booking through this site. I purchased two tickets to the NYC Statue of Liberty cruise for one day. The cruise was canceled due to the weather (it was lightly snowing). I only know of the cancellation because I called the tour provider on the day of the cruise -- I received no notification of cancellation from Trip Advisor. The lady who answered the phone at New York Water Tours (tour provider) told me there would be no refunds as the ticket was nonrefundable. They said to contact Trip Advisor with any further refund questions. I went to the Trip Advisor site to try to contact customer support. No one answers the phone. Trip Advisor simply directs you to their online help center where you can input your question and theoretically get an answer. The information I seek does not appear, and there does not appear to be any reasonably efficient way to request a refund or to speak to a live person. This has been a frustrating experience. I was leaving New York and could not simply use the tickets another day.

Wesley was fantastic tour guide, really personable and informative and mixed up the tour with personal recommendations in addition to his knowledge and history of the sights. This trip was included with my 2 day ticket with TourView hop-on-and-off bus and was definitely a highlight of my time here so far, making the 2 day ticket well worth the extra money!

Not real impressed with anybody who while leading a tour of our Statue of Liberty to numerous visiting tourists from foreign nations, slams our president over and over. If he doesn't like our president that's his right but he shouldn't be using his job as a podium to air his thoughts. There were several other American tourists in my general vicinity who were equally disturbed by this anti political diatribe. Any business that would allow this is equally disgusting in my mind. I wouldn't recommend this outfit to anyone.

If you like:

Toilets that don't flush and are overflowing on the floor with human waste.

Bathrooms with no toilet paper and no hand towels.

An outdoor public address system that sounds like two soup cans and a string.

Miserably long lines.

Rude crew members.

An unresponsive company office.

Con artist ticket sellers.

A Captain who thinks he is Kurt Russell in the film Captain Ron.

A boat that takes you "near" the Statue of Liberty, instead of "to" it.

Then The Manhattan is definitely the boat for you.

Please understand, I have never before left a negative review for any business.

We came to NYC to visit our grandchildren and wanted to take them to the Statue of Liberty for our Sunday in NYC.

The ticket seller was an absolute BOLD FACED LIAR. He said the boat would take us to the Statue and that we could spend an hour on liberty island. The boat never parked at liberty island...it drove by.

The ticket seller said there would be free snacks and drinks for the children. Another LIE. The snack bar counter person said that sometimes the ticket guys lie to sell tickets, and sincerely apologized.

We recently took a similar boat trip in Seattle. The crew gave safety instructions, showed how to put on a life preserver, and talked about what to do in an emergency. All in a pleasant and entertaining way. When I asked a crewmember, I was told, not to worry, because I didn't need to know. And that they never had any problems.

Neither did the Titanic. Until there was a problem.

The toilets were literally overflowing on to the floor with human waste. I mentioned it to the captain. He said, sorry but the company doesn't seem to care about the toilets. He said it like it was a joke and trying to emulate Captain Ron.

The sight and stench in the ladies room was so bad, that my wife vomited and ran out.

Of course, there were some positive elements.

The tour guide was good and knowledgeable. But unfortunately, his efforts were wasted because the public address system could barely be heard outside.

The sights of NYC were wonderful from the boat.

The snack bar had quality items.

But the boat was absolutely horrible, the crew rude, not enough seats and we were packed on the boat like livestock being transported to the slaughterhouse.

We wanted a nice day with our grandchildren. What we got was a surreal experience, looking at the beauty and glory of New York City from what felt like being on a third world boat to hell.

Three days in a row we were turned away because they were full. Each time we were turned away we had wasted money on a car to get there and we wasted precious time we could've spent sightseeing. On the day that we were able to wait in the line we were waiting in the sun for 30 minutes and they told us our line was for the 1 PM. I had specifically asked if it was for the 11 AM and he said yes. As it turned out that one was already full and he was just trying to keep us in the line. Three hours later we board the boat we are on the top deck and the boat was moving at a glacial pace. While they did mention the major landmarks we were expecting more history on these buildings and they focused on celebrities. Overall not worth the three hour wait or the struggle to try and coordinate a picture of the statue if they only rotated the boat for a minute and left. I'd recommend doing a tour with statue cruises. They are more organized and you get to actually step foot on the island with the Statue of Liberty. Even a round-trip ride on the free Staten Island ferry is nicer than this overpriced, time-consuming, bland tour.
