Dont plan on going in the afternoon
The museum closes hours before closing. Don't plan on getting there an hour before because they close everything early at random times. The employees are rude about it. How about updating your online hours.

met people who shared their real stories on the submarine/Intrepid
Absolutely interesting place to visit. Met Bill in the submarine. He lived on submarines since he was 18 years old (incl. the one on display). He is a wise, caring and lovely gentleman that shared his real life experiences in a thoughtful and fun way. He made our visit memorable. Watch out for experienced volunteers - they will put so much more colour and life to all the videos, artefacts, plans and stories that you see/hear. Highly recommended

        Fantastic slice of military history
If you have an interest in military history, especially World War II or Vietnam, this is a must-see. You get a first-rate look at Naval aircraft and life aboard an aircraft carrier. There are many exhibits and you can wander throughout many areas of the ship. We took the 1-hour tour (ticketed) and our tour guide Connor was an absolute expert about the aircraft carrier and all the types of Naval aircraft from all eras. It was an exceptional tour. Plan on being there at least a few hours—longer if you like to see everything and get into the details. There are a couple of places to purchase snacks or food while you’re there.

        Well worth a visit
Brilliant museum well worth every penny. So much to see and do, in particular seeing the Space Shuttle and Concorde up close was amazing.

        Cool, history
Cool, stuff you could only see in movies and news broadcasts. The submarine walkthrough a huge bonus! Fantastic stuff of what used to make America great.

Interesting museum with beautiful views of the city.
We spent 2.5 hrs here and could've easily spent around 2 hrs. There was so much to see. My 6 year old enjoyed exploring. It's a nice way to experience history.

It's okay. Worth about $10 pp imho.
Booked through TripAdvisor. No problems with tickets. Exhibition was okay. But nothing special. I couldn't really recommend it.

I love standing in line! /s
If you like standing in line, you'll love the Intrepid Museum. You get to stand in line at the box office, even if you prepurchased a timed ticket. You get to stand in line for each of the major exhibits (space shuttle, submarine, the bridge, and so on). It's a great museum with interesting exhibits but the experience is frustrating.

        Welcome Aboard
I'd wanted to visit the Intrepid since I was a kid growing up in New Jersey. First, the views of Manhattan and NJ from the flight deck were outstanding. The hanger deck was well laid out with plenty to see. There was a short film, that airs about ever hour or so that illustrates the proud history of service of the carrier, that was well produced and displayed on the open deck. The virtual experiences were fun, but honestly skippable. currently there is a nice Apollo 11 exhibit talking bout the program and the culture in the US in the 60's when the space race was ongoing. This exhibit is laid out below the amazing Enterprise Space Shuttle. As a child of the 80's being inches away from the Shuttle was awe inspiring. We skipped the line to go into the ships island and view the bridge, and flight control etc. We had a nice time on an over cast slightly breezy day. There is a 1:40 scale model of the Intrepid set up for WWII made of lego that is really neat to see, with a ton of detail.

It is a very good and interesting museum for those who are interested in warplanes, as well as spaceships and battleships. You can climb into the cockpit of an aircraft and feel like you're part of it, or steer a ship against the background of radar blips. I had a lot of fun and spent 2 hours interestingly.

        Albany at the Intrepid
Haven't been here in 20 years, enjoyed it very much. Particularly liked the hanger deck, especially the Vietnam exhibit.

        A little disappointed
Being able to walk around an aircraft carrier and a submarine full of historical information was an experience, but we were disappointed both Concorde and the Space Shuttle were not open.

        The Concorde is back !
The Intrepid Museum is a wonderful attraction if you like ships and planes. They have restored the Concorde piece and just shipped it back! Amazing!
