Don't Go If You Value Your Time
Avoid at all costs if you value your time and want to see more of New York than the queue for the lift down. Been waiting almost an hour, no staff to be seen and when you do see one they are as much use as an ash tray on a motorbike. If a masked man held me hostage for this long I'd be phoning the cops.

      Iconic
Beautiful & historic! It’s not a trip to NYC without seeing Rockefeller! Things to check out: - the actual building itself is beautiful from the outside - The ice skating ring is iconic. - check out inside the plaza! Lots of places to eat & shop out if you take the steps downstairs. - check out the amazing “Chip City” cookie shop downstairs pushing out some of the BEST warm, fresh cookies! - enjoy the scenery

      So much fun for everyone!
Only knocked one star off because it was pretty pricey but it was so much fun! There was music, lights being projected onto the ice, it wasn’t too busy and overall a great atmosphere. You can only got down to get your skates 5-10 mins before your slot then there are lockers to put your shoes and belongings into (combination lock so no coins required). It was really mild when we were skating but the ice was cleaned regularly so it never got too slushy or wet. You get given a coloured sticker which shows which skating slot you’re in and when your time is up your sticker colour gets called off the ice. Overall well organised and a family with two young children we would 100% do again!

      Fun time
I had to see the Christmas tree when I was here in December because I grew up seeing the tree in different movies.

      Worst experience
They took from my credit card 166$ and didn't refund the money. They don't answer emails. Worst experience ever. Dishonest behaviour

At Christmas time for a couple of weeks it can be super packed with people.
We were staying at a friend's apartment in NYC while they were gone. Our friend was telling us about places to see and go. He said, "don't go to the Rockefeller Center, it's super crowded". One of the days here, while walking about we unintentionally came upon the Radio City Music Hall. 50th Street next to is was closed to traffic and packed with pedestrians. What's going on, we thought. Without intending to do so, we came upon Rockefeller Center. Yes it was super crowded, but we managed to see everything we wanted to see there. Saw the big Christmas tree, skating rink, and all the other sights... blah, blah, blah. We later went to Bryant Park, much more fun there.

Had to see the Christmas tree!
I’ve been here a few times for different reasons, but this trip I wanted to stop by and see the Christmas tree while it’s still up in early January. It’s absolutely gorgeous! We stopped by later in the evening after seeing a show (and it was raining) so it was pretty cleared out. Definitely a sight to see if you’ve never seen it!

      Dream come true
It was full of amazing sites. The experience was absolutely stunning. The only downside was the large group of disorganized people. There was a lot of pushing and shoving. Once I was able to get to the line for my photo and skating I was all smooth from there.

Right About Now, Funk Soul Brother!
The Rockerfeller Plaza is quite grand. Located on Fifth Avenue it is the home to NBC and they have a number of studios where you can watch TV shows being recorded. You can also visit their gift shop and get a souvenir from some of their current shows as well as some from the past. There is also a branch of FAO Schwarz here where you can buy a gift for your younglings. One thing they have is a giant piano on the floor so you can recreate the scene from the movie "Big". Don't forget to take your shoes off! There is a really nice open space outside the front of the building and there is a giant sculpture of Atlas with the weight of the world on his shoulders. It's definitely a place worth checking out for some architectural grandeur.

      No More Dining around Rink
This is usually a fave among both tourists and natives during the holidays. As long time person living here, I try to make the trek here toward year end because it brings back old memories when I was a kid and went with my parents but during my most recent visit in 2023, I noticed all the restaurants around the rink especially the iconic Rock Center Cafe was gone. There is nothing around the rink now and just glass for tourists to look through which there were before but now it’s almost 270 degrees around. Here, is an example of when it was better back then during the good ol days because dining while looking at the rink was magical. This was also done by the main character in the classic novel, The Cather in the Rye. You can no long experience this since all the new restaurants are now away from any windows and really, who wants to eat there anymore? What an awful decision by those in charge and I feel sorry for the new generations who will never be able to experience dining next to the rink. At least, I was able to enjoy it once upon a time.

      Rockefeller Center
It was built in the late 1920s to help revitalize Midtown Manhattan. It is a large complex consisting of 19 buildings and the square. You can walk outside around freely. Also Top of the Rock is located there, it is a paid activity.

Great time during November to go, they had the tree lighting. If you can not stand the crowds please do not consider going. It gets prwtty busy in that area

      Great during Christmas!
Rockefeller Center is a must if you are in the city during Christmas time. Unfortunately the tree wasn’t lit up when I went, but it was still cool to see all of the Christmas decorations and the ice skating rink. Overall, I highly recommend!

Waste of money - Beware no refund policy
We booked the observation deck but it was a waste of money as it was raining and you couldn't see a thing. We could not reschedule as apparently they were fully booked and they have a no refund policy. Lost $80, staff couldn't care less, clearly this happens a lot and they just make money for nothing. Typical Rockefeller I guess !

Excellent one hour walking tour with a very engaging and clever guide. He pointed out many interesting sites that we never would have noticed on our own, and kept up a constant patter as we walked the streets. The headsets made it possible to hear him clearly. (English only). At the end of the tour we were able to buy tickets separately to go to the top of 30 rock, which was excellent as well. We highly recommend this tour.

The Rockefeller centre is much bigger than you could appreciate unless you went on the guided tour. It is very informative and really opens your eyes to the Fabulous artwork around the city and also the history behind the buildings.

We booked the tour online earlier (around $60 per person with taxes and access to Top of the Rock). We were guided by Jonathan and he was amazing!
Interesting lecture full of some details and stories, and funny moments and he showed attention and care to each guy in the group.

High recommended booking the tour especially with Jonathan 🙂

This was an unexpected and delightful tour. We were planning to go to the Top of the Rock and our passes included this tour. Our tour guide was witty and very knowlegeable about the entire Rockfeller Center and all the buildings. The tour took about 45 minutes and was NOT a rushed experience. Highly, highly recommend this fun little New York City diversion~

I’d visited the centre previously but didn’t realise there was a tour. We got this free as part of the New York pass. Logan our tour guide was lovely and very knowledgeable. The facts and information were great, the art work was stunning. Didn’t realise how big the area this centre covered was. It’s quite fascinating. Excellent activity to do as part of visiting the top of the rock.

We were not told it was 12 and under at purchase. Having headphones and transponder was a disaster. It barely worked and my son was so distracted by the white noise he knocked the over a sign and injured his thumb badly. The tour guide was only interested in taking his equipment back and there was no first aide offered on the site anywhere. There was little compassion and no effort at all to attempt any customer services. For the cost it was very disappointing. The guide was knowledgeable but I would not recommend anyone spending their money on this.

Rockefeller Center is definitely among the biggest highlights in Midtown Manhattan. It is great to see the Christmas tree, the ornaments, and all of the flags during the holiday season in the winter. It is also interesting, albeit expensive, to ice skate at the ice rink at Rockefeller Center. Previously, I toured NBC Studios and Radio City Music Hall, and I would encourage visitors to check out both of these sites. Please be advised that there is going to be a ton of vehicular, bicycle, and pedestrian traffic, so all individuals should be prepared for significant crowds. Also, people ought to be ready for a large police force and many vendors.

The tour guide took us around multiple buildings that are part of Rockefeller Plaza. Got to see alot of architectural artwork that has been in place for many years and we probably would have missed out on realizing all of it if it weren't for this tour.

Tied to do the tour and the Top of The Rock, they only issued tickets for the Top Of The Rock, lines were way too long, too much confusing, wasted too much time and took 45 minute to exit the place. Will never spend my money to go back. No organization what so ever.
