Guided Historical French Quarter Walking Tour
From US$20.00
Learn fascinating French Quarter history on a guided walking tour in New Orleans. Explore the convergence of cultures that defined this famous neighborhood as you stroll through the French Market, past Creole mansions, and along the banks of the Mississippi. Go deeper than other tours with included entrance to Beauregard‐Keyes House or Cabildo military museum (depending on the day) for more insight into Louisiana's past.
What to Expect

Meet your guide in the afternoon at a convenient French Quarter location and explore the boundaries of this historic neighborhood, including the mighty Mississippi, Jackson Square, and waterside French Market. See French and Spanish colonial architecture as you walk past iron-lace balconies and Creole cottages, stopping for a tour of the Beauregard‐Keyes House (Mondays and holidays), where you can enter the studio of American author Frances Parkinson Keyes.

Hear tales from New Orleans’ history, from its founding in 1718 to its evolution into a hub of music, arts, and merry-making. See the Pontalba, the oldest apartment building in the US, and step inside the Cabildo museum (Tuesday through Sunday) where the Louisiana Purchase was signed. Learn how streets like St. Lous and Dumaine got their names, and see literary landmarks like William Faulkner’s former home and the building where Tennessee Williams wrote A Streetcar Named Desire.

The tour ends back at the departure point.
