What to Expect
Begin your Garden District tour at a central meeting location on Magazine Street, known for its boutique shopping and dining options. Grab a snack from a popular shop (own expense), and get started on the tour.
Walk with your guide past a series of beautiful historic homes, from the plantation-style home where Jefferson Davis died to the haunted Buckner Mansion, featured in the TV series American Horror Story. Along the way, learn about the area’s history from the Louisiana Purchase to the Civil War and up to present day.
Then, browse the shops and restaurants at The Rink, a renovated roller skating rink turned shopping center best known for its bookstore. Tour concludes with a walk through the famous Lafayette Cemetery No. 1, located near a shopping and dining district.

I expected a tour, not a one man, one act play. Loki was our guide...a bit too much character for me. His 'schtick" was overdone & I didn't care about the excessive rants of folklore and attempts at humor. I prefer and expected a history...More

I am so sorry that this was your experience. It is certainly our intention to have our guides be respectful and to deliver historical narratives in a pleasant way, while being gracious hosts and neighbors. I am actually more upset with myself at this moment,...More

The tour was a good mix of historical, cultural, and celebrity information, with lots of little interesting details intermixed here and there. The guide, Dannel, was absolutely wonderful. You can tell history is really her thing, both New Orleans, and the south in general. She...More

Thanks for taking the time to write a review for our Garden District with Lafayette Cemetery tour and Dannal. It's such a beautiful neighborhood and exploring it with a someone who you can connect with makes for such a great activity.

That iced beverage (and a/c) is SO necessary this time of year. Thank you for braving the weather and coming out with us.

We enjoyed our guide, Dannal. A long time resident, she had a well rounded knowledge of both the garden district and New Orleans in general. We learned lots of things we didn't know and to me, that makes a good tour. The tour itself was...More

We like to pack in as much information into our tours as possible while still keeping the tours moving and within time. There's so much to talk about that it can be difficult, but we really strive to do so as we know how valuable...More

Our guide Steve was awesome. There was only three of us so it was like our own little private tour! I’ve walked the garden district before, but this was my first time having a guide. We stopped at lots of houses and Steve told us...More

Summertime and the living is steamy... While we can't do much about our weather, we make every attempt to keep our guests as comfortable as possible by staying in the shade when we can and taking a cold drink/air conditioning/bathroom break midway through the tour....More
