What to Expect

Meet your guide at the Lafayette Cemetery, just one block from the Historic St. Charles Streetcar line. Walk through the graves and above-ground crypts of the cemetery while listening to stories and legends.

Head to the Garden District to view the wealthy, antebellum homes that have been well-preserved. Learn the different architectural and landscaping styles from the 1830s that can be seen throughout the city.

sara guided us through the lafayette cemetery and garden district tour. she was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the area and its history. she answered all our questions and the most important factor was the group was small and not a herd. love the tour

Fun and Educational

Sarah was a nice mix of knowledge and entertainment. We learned so much about NOLA cemetery procedures and the beautiful homes in the Garden District. The tour was just the right length (two hours) and I would highly recommend it.

Great Tour of New Orleans Garden District and Lafayette Cemetery No. 1

We loved our tour of the Garden District and Lafayette Cemetery Tour No. 1 with Sarah. She was great!!! So knowledgeable about the history, architecture, culture, and customs of the area. We would HIGHLY recommend this tour. (Steven, give her a raise! She deserves it.)

It starts and ends at the cemetery. The best place to meet is at the Commander’s Palace across the street from the cemetery.

Book in advance. The tours with Steven are limited to 10 or so people so better to reserve. He is worth it!
