Overview
Join us for a guided bicycle tour of Kilauea Volcano in the Hawaii Volcano National Park. You'll explore Kilauea Volcano, from its summit to the sea, as you bike down this active crater. It's a great family-friendly adventure in Hawaii packed with fun. See the historic changes to Kilauea Volcano's Caldera and Halemaumau Crater, feel the volcano's heat at the Steam Vents, bike through a native rain forest, see a variety of volcanic craters, walk through a Lava Tube, and have a scenic lunch at the Holei Sea Arch.
Highlights
  • Bicycle tour offers a guided, up-close view of Volcanoes National Park
  • Support van available if you get tired or just want to ride the route
  • Picnic lunch included, with ocean views
  • Helmet and rain jacket included
What to Expect
Begin your tour with pickup from a designated point. After a short transfer to Volcanoes National Park, select your bicycle and receive all necessary equipment, including helmet and rain jacket. Once in the saddle, you ride past lush, tropical rainforests that house hidden, volcanic lava tubes—one of which you can explore on foot. Pass steaming vents, massive craters, and barren volcanic terrain—you may even see lava spilling into the sea. Along the way, visit the Jaggar Museum of volcanology. The bicycle paths are paved and largely downhill, but if you wish, a support van is nearby for a rest. If you don't want to cycle at all, follow the group on the same trails while riding in the van. Conclude your ride with lunch and views of the ocean, and then head back to visitor’s center, making a visit to Thurston Lava Tube. The tour concludes with drop-off at your original pickup point.

My wife and I (ages 61 and 64) took this tour while in port. Chris was our guide and led us an approx. 9 mile journey around and through Volcano National Park. It was quite rainy that day, but we were equipped with nice rain jackets so it was not a problem. In fact, it made

Bike Volcano is a great way to experience the Volcano National Park and Chris is a wonderful tour guide. Some here complain about the cost, but for the price you get a sandwich, a tour guide, a biking experience, and the park its a great deal, period! We moved from one side of

Good overview of the park. We were picked up at Kilauea General Store, which I recommend to avoid being crammed into a overstuffed 15-passenger van longer than you have to be. Started with an overview of bike safety. Though they take time to make sure everyone is comfortable on
