      Special and unique experience!
My girlfriend and me went on a 7,5 hours tour on 29th August. The trip start on time and you can fell how this is very professional service from the start. Staff even helpt me with a parking, and the service on board was excellent also. On whole trip some of the staff is going around too check is everybody ok, because of potential sea sickness, and captain all the way explain secif8c nature and wildlife situation that you are currently observing. On whole trip the best and most exciting moments was when we saw humpback whale! At this time if the year it is not easy to see whales, but we were blessed to see humpback whale jumo from the water! Crazy, so beautiful and unique moment! Unforgettable! And whale jumped 5 times, in a half an hour searching and fallawing whale by captain! Another highlight are glachers, and this is also so special that the whale trip is one of best experiences that I ever had! Must do!

Enjoyable experience, But few issues for solo travelers
Unfortunately, the day I went was rainy, and the weather was so cold and unpleasant, but overall, I still had a good experience. The staffs were friendly and service-oriented, and the narration was great. I got to see some amazing animals. One thing I would like to mention is the management of solo travelers. I was assigned to sit with a large family who seemed to have little regard for manners and acted as if I didn't exist. The worst part was when I went outside with my bag, and when I returned, they had taken my seat. Perhaps they thought I would never come back, but that was my seat. This even happened twice, but for the second time, they apologized to me so I will let it slide. I understand this wasn't directly your fault, it was more about the behavior of those individuals. However, I still want to provide this feedback in the hope that a better solution might be found for solo travelers to avoid situations like this in the future.

Kenai Fjords Major Marine Tour - 4 hrs. was plenty and AMAZING!!
The 7 hr. tour we were set up for had to be cancelled or changed to a 4 hr. tour due to 15' swales further out. If this happens to you, don't fret. A hump back whale and about 8-9 orcas didn't like the swales either and came in further to our boat, so we missed nothing. OK, we may have missed seeing an iceberg, but absolutely nothing else. The crew were amazing, and we saw over 20 waterfalls, 5-6 eagles, otters, seals, seagulls, and had a FABULOUS experience. People kept apologizing for the rainy weather, but we didn't go to Alaska expecting to see sunshine and beaches. We experienced Alaska in September by train, planes, buses and this boat trip. Soooo glad we didn't waste our 'once in a lifetime trip' on a cruise ship. We would have missed soooo much! Thanks again for such a great time! The meals were great as well. :)~~Bob & Kathy Dunlap-Medina, OH

Book it - you won't regret it!
I can't say enough good things about this experience! Fabulous customer service, as I emailed with many questions before and after booking and they were so thorough and patient. We came to Seward by cruise ship and were leaving that evening by train. Major Marine staff were waiting for us as we exited our cruise ship - they tagged our luggage, loaded it (and us) in the van and transported us to the hotel. While we were on the tour, they transported our luggage to the train for us - seamless experience. Now for the tour - amazing views and so relaxing! The crew (I think it was Justin, Scott, Marissa and Rebecca) were fabulous! The lunch was really good too! Two weeks in Alaska and this was one of our favorite experiences!

Great day on the water, great company, great staff, great boats, and great wildlife!
My wife and I really enjoyed our cruise with Marine tours. It was enf of the season and we were scheduled to go on Sunday, but the contacted us Friday and said bad weather was moving in and asked if there was any way we could make it on Saturday as the Sunday cruise would likely be cancelled or shortened. We were actually boarding our flights and had to rearrange some things, but we made it on Saturday and we are glad we did. It ended up being the only sunny day of our vacation. The cruise, the staff and the views were incredible. The wildlife was plentiful and the glacier was amazing. They sent out two boats instead of overcrowding a single boat and the boats spotless and looked brand new. The food was good and we even enjoyed a special margarita (I don't want to spoil the surprise). I would highly recommend this tour, but remember no jumping allowed on the boat :)

Clean boat, nice viewing of Fjords National Park, cool seals, mountain goats and friendly female staff on the boat
I was a solo traveler on 9/25/24 and I went on the 4 hour wildlife tour. The 3 ladies working on the ship were very kind, very friendly, and had excellent customer service. They even had binoculars you can use for free. The nice lady named Carson showed me how to adjust them. The tour was very nice. Although I did not see puffins or orcas like I had hoped, I saw a group of cool sea lions, harbor seals, a couple of eagles and sea otters, and amazing and impressive mountain goats. The boat went to Kenai Fjords National Park and the scenery was amazing with the glaciers and the mountains. I also saw a rainbow which was very cool. The boat was very clean and plenty of free coffee and hot tea. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Seward, AK.

You can tell when someone love what they do, that's Marine Tours.
This cruise from Seward to Kenai Fjord was absolutely amazing. The crew and captain made our vacation magical. The narration along the cruise was spectacular. We loved the wildlife watching. The glacier alkali was out of this world, and the service on board was phenomenal. I find people in Alaska so genuine and warm. 100% recommended. Thank you so much, Marine Tours. You can tell when someone love their job!

      Great Experience.
Great views and saw Sea lions, sea otters, two whales, and of course the Glaciers. Our Captain was great and experienced. Good sandwiches provided. We would do it again for sure.

Great way to see the Alaskan coast!
We really enjoyed the cruise! The Alaskan coastline is absolutely beautiful and we saw an incredible amount of wildlife, include humpback whales, orcas, otters, numerous birds and a few mountain goats! We also got very close to a glacier and enjoyed cocktails cooled by glacial ice. The staff was knowledgeable, friendly and efficient -- I highly recommend cruising with Major Marine!

Highlight of our trip with wonderful wildlife viewing
We did the six hour boat trip, which I think was the perfect length of time. We got lucky with some beautiful sunny and calm conditions and were able to see lots of wildlife, including sea otters, Stellar sea lions, puffins, Muirs, Dall's porpoise, and even a humpback who hadn't migrated south yet. It was very cool to see the glacier as well. The boat was very comfortable and you are able to sit at seats around a table inside to stay warm whenever you want and then head out on the deck when wildlife is spotted. Definitely bundle up, it is always colder out on the water when the boat is moving and you have a breeze! Sandwich lunches leave a bit to be desired, but I did appreciated the brownies they gave us at the end :)

      Glaciers and critters!
Wonderfully unexpected sunny day. The crew were great, the captain went out of her way to spot and find humpback whales, sea otters, Stellar sea lions, mountain goats, Dall’s porpoises. The katabatic winds off the glaciers were wild. Highly recommend.

      MUST TAKE THIS TOUR!
The Major Marine tour was INCREDIBLE! The glacier was better than the ones seen on our cruise ship. We saw Humpback and Orca whales, puffins, sea lines and eagles. Laura was the best guide ever. You must take this tour if you go to Seward.

      Must do!
Fantastic tour company. Seas were rough but they knew in advance and warned everyone before departing to take motion sickness medication. Great info provided throughout the cruise, and they went out of their way to search for wildlife. The boat captain was incredible, getting the large boat around, between and up so-close-you-could-touch-it landscapes. Crew was very knowledgeable and friendly, you could tell they love what they do. Highly recommend this company and would book another trip with them if in the area again.

Best tour ever! You won’t be disappointed!
Best tour we’ve ever booked! Customer service was outstanding from the reservation process to the tour itself. Captain Justin and his crew were extremely focused on the customer experience which made for the perfect day! Highly recommend this tour company. They met us off the cruise ship and shuttled us to their office for check-in and even stored and transferred our luggage to the train depot for us. The boat was clean and appeared relatively new and well maintained. Narration was just the right amount throughout the 6 hour tour! Would definitely do this tour again!

      Northwestern Fjord Cruise
We did the Northwestern Fjord Cruise and would highly recommend. Justin and Zach did a phenomenal job keeping us informed of wildlife sightings along the way. We saw Orcas, Stellar Sea Lions, Sea Otters, Puffins and more. We felt safe the entire ride and were very pleased with the overall experience. The boat never felt overcrowded and there was space inside for everyone if one wanted.

We picked Major Marine Tours based on reviews. We were very satisfied with our experience. The boat was very clean and comfortable, there is plenty of deck space if you want to stay outside, there is also plenty of space inside if you get too cold. The crew was fantastic, my wife got seasick and needed assistance and they came right away to help. They also checked with us several times thru the cruise to see how she was doing.

The tour operated very smoothly. We left right at 1:30 PM and returned to port a few minutes after 5:00 PM. During the tour we were able to see sea otters, harbor seals, sea lions, a variety of birds including the horned puffin, and the icing on the cake was a humpback whale. The ship captain was very patient to time the whale's descent and wait for her to resurface.

Despite my wife been seasick, we truly enjoyed the experience and would highly recommend this tour. If you are prone to getting dizzy, they have pills and other stuff that can help you.

This 3.5 hour tour out of Seward is an absolute "Must Do" while you are in Alaska. You will experience magnificent Alaskan beauty, and the wildlife viewing is really spectacular. Although we did not see whales on our journey, we did see bald eagles, puffins, otters, sea lions, mountain goats and several other birds and creatures.

The hospitality of the Captain and her crew was amazing, and we especially enjoyed interacting with Trina. She is studying to become a captain of a large vessel herself, and her passion for Alaska, the company and her work is palpable. When so many employees have nothing good to say about their companies, she raved about the owner of Major Marine Tours and the kindness and leadership he extends to his employees. She even "fished out" a piece of an iceberg from a glacier so we could experience glacial ice. The entire crew was very knowledgeable and gracious.

On our journey, people were very compliant with wearing masks while indoors. Several of us did remove our masks when we were outdoors and able to social distance from others.

The food and drinks on-board were ample and delicious. Make sure to try the spiked hot chocolate, as it was dreamy delicious! Remember to bring a warm coat and gloves, as it gets very cold on the outdoor viewing decks. This was an incredible journey that I will treasure for the rest of my life!

I'll caveat this with we were blessed with blue skies, calm waters, and lots of animals showing off. Orca, Humpback, Dolphins, Sea Lions, Otters, Puffins, and Bald Eagles all showed up for the show. I would recommend this excursion to anyone who wishes to see lots of beauty without being on a boat for 6+ hours (glacier cruises). Also if you have a tendency towards sea sickness, apparently this is the way to go b/c you don't go into the open waters of the Pacific. Captain was fantastic and shared lots of deep knowledge about the animals, the environment, and history. You don't get up and personal with the glacier, but you still get a real good view of it. Great experience!

Well...the cruise was lovely. Our disappointment is with the lack of COVID concern. According to the website (and the announcement from the captain at the beginning of the cruise), they had a mask policy (everyone required to wear masks while inside the boat) and would be enforcing it. We saw several examples of people not wearing masks and no one said anything to them. We actually watched a staff member have a 5-10 minute conversation with a man who wasn’t wearing a mask (inside the boat—we were sitting right behind them) and the staff member said nothing to him about a mask. We were only comfortable booking this cruise because of the supposed mask policy, and that lack of enforcement pretty much ruined the cruise for us. If the staff isn’t going to bother enforcing the policy, then they shouldn’t bother even having one, because there are still people out there who are concerned about COVID.

Hello and thank you for your feedback. We are glad you enjoyed the cruise but are very sorry to hear about your concerns and experience. Masks are indeed required inside our vessels, except when a guest is eating or drinking. We have passed your comments on to our operations team to see what happened during this situation. We do agree, the mask should have been enforced if the guest was speaking to our crew at the bar. I do want to assure you that we take your feedback very seriously and will be discussing it with our team. That being said, we do have to share a responsibility with guests to be courteous of our policy and follow it. Again, we appreciate your concerns and they have been passed on to management so as to prevent a similar occurrence from happening in the future.

Major Marine Tours is a fantastic company! I spent 10 years as a tour guide so I am a tough critic of tours and this company did an amazing job. They made sure everyone had a reserved seat (but you can leave it to go outside anytime you want), managed the group well and were experts in finding wildlife. We saw a humpback whale, lots of puffins and other birds and sea otters, to name a few. The crew were extremely professional, knowledgeable and fun. Highly recommend this company for a boat tour to Kenai Fjords!

I love this boat ride! It’s the perfect amount of time for both children and adults. I’ve been on it about 4 times and each time is lovely! Staff is wonderful, informative and accommodating. The is views are also great from inside if you have babies and it’s too cold or windy for them outside. I have been on with children as young as 4 months old , while pregnant and with a 2 year old. Bring food with you, and an empty travel mug for the complimentary coffee and tea; makes less waste and less chance of spilling a hot drink. Also leave a good tip please! I know this is the season of always being asked for a tip but there are several staffers bringing you hot drinks and water, keeping the bathrooms clean and taking care of seasick folks. I recommend leaving at least $20 because that will be shared among all that staff who go out of their way when asked for help. I also saw them helping children find parents and keeping others away from the stairs while parents were looking at the marine life.

They told us that people don't always see everything that we saw, but we saw puffins, sea lions, whales, and porpoises. This was my daughter's favorite part of the trip. I liked that they assigned tables. Some people moved to the front or on top, but my daughter's leg was injured, so we just sat and watched from the window. The captain tried to make it to where each side of the boat saw things, which was considerate. A few people got seasick, but I didn't feel any motion at all. It's a huge boat, but take meds prior if you get motion sickness. For us, it was an excellent trip, worth every penny. The captain gave a great narration with a lot of history and scientific information.

It was a gorgeous day for the water. Very unusual for Seward. The crew was on top of cleaning, wiping down hand rails ect.. passengers were for the most part social distancing. Very important in these times. We seen a few whales which was a plus, harbor seals and lots of sea birds.
I love this cruise for the fact it's only 3.5 hours and we can make it from Anchorage to Seward, cruise and go back to Anchorage. I want to thank you for giving a 30% off for Alaskans. I was able to bring my two grandsons (4&13) to enjoy the beauty of Seward.

We booked only a half day cruise because my family is not very good with boat rides. The boat we took was the Glacier express. The staff were all so nice and friendly and I loved that we had assigned inside seats (we got by a window) but we were able to walk around and go outside whenever we wanted without risking losing our seats. My two older kids spent the majority of the trip with their heads down on the table, and just picked it up whenever the captain announced some wildlife, they saw it out the window and then laid back down. They were tired and queasy. My youngest and I spent most the ride outside and running around getting the best views and pictures. I love that there was complimentary coffee, water and binoculars. It was cold, but I've been told it was one of the nicest days in Seward. We didn't get to see any whales and only saw one porpoise for a second. We did sea Seals, Eagles, Jellyfish, Puffins and other small stuff but it was a bit disappointing - can't blame the boat though, they don't control the wildlife. They also showed us Bear Glacier and Fox Island, showing us the devestation there from the earthquake and tsunami of '64 (crazily there was an 8.2 earthquake later that night - but we were long gone by then) The captain was very informative and her tidbits were interesting and fun. Kyler was in charge of cleaning up if people were sick, so he was busy making sure everyone wasn't sick - it was so funny. Of course my husband didn't want to take dramamine and ended up sitting out back the whole tour feeling sick (thanks to Kyler's tips he didn't end up barfing) One negative that can and should be fixed was that the speaker system wasn't as clear when you were standing outside, so those of us with the best view couldn't really hear all the information from the captain as to what we were looking at. When visiting Alaska you must go on some kind of cruise and this one was perfect for what we needed that day.

We were excited to take this cruise leaving off right in front of our hotel and cruising through Ressurrection Bay. We hoped to see the Orca whales since I had read that the resident Orcas were still in the area. Unfortunately we did not get to see any whales or dolphins, but we saw some playful sea otters, a rock full of sea lions, spotted some bald eagles in the trees and some goats in the distance on the mountain sides. The landscape was beautiful with glaciers, mountains, waterfalls and a "Ghost Forest" trees that died from saltwater in their roots during a storm. It was raining most of the time and sometimes fairly hard and the swells in some areas were a little high which caused some people to feel a little queasy. The boat announced that if you were feeling sea sick they had remedies for you at the snack bar. The boat was roomy and comfortable with 3 levels. You could sit in your seats inside and keep warm and dry, although people would stand out on the deck in front of you and you could not see out. Or there was a stadium area in front of the boat, walk around the sides of the boat (which at times it was very windy), or sit in the open air top level that had a cover. The snack shop/bar offered several options of snacks and drinks. The guide who announced points of interest and history to us was informative. With the cool, rainy, windy weather and not seeing much wildlife we were cold and tired and felt that 3 hrs would have been enough.
