About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Trip657211032550 contributionsExcellent TourToday (16 Sept ’24), my wife and I had the absolute pleasure to have the very personable and professional Jerry Weissman as our tour guide for the Early–Bird Tasting Tour of Pikes Place. Jerry was a font of knowledge, information, history and humour. The food stalls we visited and tasting we did was excellent as it was varied. We enjoyed learning about the history of Pikes Place, Seattle, the Boeing dilemma, etc. etc. The tour was evenly paced and not rushed at all. Our group had time to exchange experiences and stories with Jerry as well. My personal highlight was catching the thrown fish and not dropping it! So a big thanks to Jerry for making this morning an unforgettable experience. Thanks mate. Cheers, Carol & Tony Cashman Sydney, AustraliaWritten September 16, 2024
- jodia4960 contributionsGreat food tourTour was a great way to learn about Pike Place Market. Don't eat before hand! Lucky was a fantastic tour guide and the speaker at Helinski was passionate about the creamy Gelato. We sampled a variety of delicious samples.Written September 15, 2024
- lorimA6960RG0 contributionsHighly recommend! The first time I went to Pike I was frankly overwhelmed, so this guided tour sounded like a better option. Chip was great. Learning about the history and hidden treasures of the market was really interesting, and I really liked doing it in the am when things are quieter. The food choices were wonderful and varied. Having multiple little taste opportunities was much more fun - and Chip made lots of wonderful choices for us to try.Written September 4, 2024
- Sarah R0 contributionsDelicious food and delightful tour guide!Cacey was absolutely fantastic. She was knowledgeable and hilarious. The historical stories she told were compelling and interesting. All of the food we tasted was delicious and left us wishing we had a bigger suitcase to take food home. We highly recommend this experience!Written September 1, 2024

- C7397AXjohnc0 contributionsDon't miss this tour! What a great tour! I can't say enough about David (aka Lucky). He clearly loves his work. I had no idea about the history of Pike Place Market nor how it works today. It's a community, not just a random collection of vendors. I would take this tour again with family and friends.Written August 26, 2024

- HB10080 contributionsDo This Tour!Do not miss this tour! We have been to Seattle, have done other tours, numerous times. This was the best. Lucky, our guide, was energetic, fun, and vey knowledgeable. We went all through the market and learned all sorts of new things. We sampled wonderful food through the tour, and were quite full by the end. Good job Lucky!Written August 23, 2024
- Julia F0 contributionsGreat food and history! This tour included a LOT of food and drink as well as introductions and/or stories about many of the vendors, which was fascinating. The description was a bit misleading when it stated that we would be entering before the general public and that the entrance fee would be covered in the cost. We were not there before the general public, even though the crowds were certainly less at that time. Also, there is no cost to enter the market. I would still certainly recommend this tour for both the food samples and the history.Written August 22, 2024
- CyranoH0 contributionsGreat trip to the MarketA great way to see the market. We had a 4 year old, and Jerry, the guide, was great, including him. We never would have discovered some of the places without his assistance. I would recommend this if you have any desire to see and understand the market better.Written August 17, 2024
- Laura M0 contributionsGreat Tour!We had a great experience with Lucky touring the Pike Place Market! It was very informative and helped us gain an appreciation for the rich history and current operations of the Market. The variety of food was fun and offered our family a wonderful introduction to the Market and the surrounding area. Highly recommended!Written August 11, 2024
- MKEgirlMidwest0 contributionsGreat Food and tour--Don't eat before the tour!We went on the EARLY BIRD tour and had a great tour of the market, sampling selected treats all along the way. We started out with an amazing hot chocolate at Indi Chocolate and then had a delicious savory biscuit at Honest Biscuit before walking on to hear about the history of the market, local culture, local favorites, and "must do" experiences. Our tour guide was Woody and his relationships with the local market vendors got us special access/skip the line in several places which was really helpful! Make sure you taste the greek Gelato (end of the tour) and the vegetarian Samosa (delicious)---and definitely don't eat before you go---you will be full by the end of the tour.Written August 9, 2024
- beansprout19660 contributionsFabulous Tour!My husband and I did the early bird tasting tour with Chip. He was an outstanding tour guide. We loved the tour and the food samples were excellent. Much more food than we expected which was wonderful. Chip did a fantastic job of giving us the history of the Pike Place Market as well as the current state of the market. We learned so much. The vendors he chose were amazing too. We highly recommend this tour. Thanks, Chip!Written August 7, 2024
- Muskox930 contributionsProbably good if you have the right guide - we didn’t!We were a friends group of 13 and had “Lucky” as our guide. I was not pleased with him. He was rude and condescending to members of the group. He walked at breakneck speeds over cobblestone through the crowded market, often leaving us scratching our heads as to where he went. We were all older (retirees), some with canes and he kept going on about how we were “late”. He chastised members of the group for food preferences (not wanting a particular sample). We were all very frustrated with how he spoke to passersby who pleasantly engaged us over our Phillies gear (for the game that night) - told them to take his tour if they wanted to talk to us. It really felt like he was annoyed that we were there at all. Other than that - most of the food was good but only two of the merchants actually spoke to us.Written August 6, 2024

We arrived at Pike Place Market and Nola was already there waiting for us. Of course this is a good tour and all the places we visited were great and gave us what we paid for.
What we got beyond the food sampling was just even better. Nola presented us a great history on the city of Seattle and how Pike Place Market helps the community.
We would highly recommend this tour and ask if Nola is available to be your guide.

I would not recommend. There was very little value added in going on the tour vs going on your own. While the guide provided a few pieces of information, it was nothing that was not readily available on line. The samples were okay, but nothing noteworthy (and some were available for the asking outside of the tour). It felt like a lot of money for a few snacks.

Because this is the off season, we only had 4 in the group. Chip was an awesome guide who was quite witty and very compassionate (he kept us out of the cold when possible). He has a great relationship with many of the folks in the market, knowing their names and their back stories. We stopped at 11 places and they were all awesome. My favorite part? We started with Gelato - I got Nutella flavor.
With more folks, there are less stops. Chip added in a few.

If you can request your guides, I'd definitely ask for Bob. Probably the most enthusiastic person I've ever met. Super animated, knowledgeable, funny and he had all these old photos of Pike Place that we could look at to compare to what it looked like today. Our group was small but he had enough energy for ten. And you can tell the stand workers love him too. I had such an amazing time and next time I come to Seattle I'm definitely bringing everyone to this tour. Plus the food was delicious!

Marcia was an excellent guide and was clearly passionate about the market. We ended up getting 10 tastings and the tour actually ran 30 minutes longer than planned. We were engaged the entire time and Marcia was very careful about our health and safety. My wife says anytime she smells hand sanitizer again it will remind her of Pike Place Market. Great value for the money and a great excuse to slow down and experience a place we would have just quickly walked through otherwise. Highly recommended!

I visited Seattle to see friends who are new transplants to the city at the end of April. They arranged this tour for us while I was in town and it did not disappoint. Our guide, Lucky, gave us many interesting facts and lots of color about the history of the market and the key locations that we visited. We did the first tour of the day on a Friday and it seemed to catch some businesses as they were opening or before they opened. The samples we recieved were tasty and the locations the tour visits can accommodate gluten free and vegan participants. I would recommend this tour as your taster to the Pike Place Market as it introduces you to just enough to want to continue your explorations on your own after the experience ends.

This tour was the perfect and well rounded introduction to the Pike Place Market! Lucky was an awesome tourguide! Went at a great pace, he gave so many nuggets of good information, and we learned SO MUCH about the history, location, current vendors, and layout of the market. We ended up being the only 2 on the tour that afternoon, and it was amazing to have basically a privately guided tour with Lucky. It was also a beautiful day in Seattle! Come to the tour hungry, and make sure to save a little belly room when you're done so you can go back and get a full serving of anything you tried! Something good to note, you rarely sit at all during the tour, so expect to be standing for the full tour. For 2 women in our 30s we were totally fine, but just keep it in mind. 11/10 would recommend this tour for EVERYBODY. We're SO HAPPY we decided to do this tour, and we stuck around the Market for another couple hours enjoying drinks and food facing the water. Honestly, best afternoon of the entire trip!

Our tour guide, Imogene, shared her vast knowledge of Pike Place Market and the City of Seattle. Her entertaining tour explored the entire market with many stops to taste delicious samples of food. We had great time, enjoyed the food, and became very knowledgeable about the history of the market.

We enjoyed this tour very much. Our tour guide Dani was great. She was knowledgeable and very easy going. The samples were delicious. We went back to some of the vendors to purchase items using out discount. We highly recommend touring Pikes with Dani.
