- A9773BQaaronw0 contributionsEric's food tour was the highlight of our trip!If you’re in Seattle and looking for an unforgettable experience, I can’t recommend this Street Food Tour of South Lake Union enough. From start to finish, every bite offered something local, unique, and mouthwateringly delicious. But, remember to come hungry (and pace yourself), because there’s a ton of food to enjoy -- so much, in fact, that we had to take our last stop (a dessert) to go because we were completely full. And, the stops were conveniently close to each other, making for an easy afternoon stroll. Our guide, Chef Eric, was great. He was fun, personable, engaging, and incredibly knowledgeable about food and the local area. It felt like visiting an old friend who was proudly showing us around the coolest spots of his hometown. Eric’s deep knowledge of the neighborhood, the craft of baking/cooking, and his relationships with the chefs & owners at each stop gave us a true “behind-the-scenes” foodie experience that we never would have found on our own. If you’re in Seattle, don’t miss out on this tour. They've found the most delicious bites at the best places in South Lake Union, and we almost felt like locals by the end of it!Written August 18, 2024

Our tour guide, Eric, gave us interesting information not only on the food and the restaurants but on the history of the area and the surrounding buildings The walk was easy and includes areas of nice public art. The food was varied, every bite was delicious and portions were larger than we expected. It was a pleasure to help support small local food establishments.Written July 13, 2024

We had an amazing experience on this tour with Eric! The amount of information Eric shared was incredible! It was the perfect combination of history, cooking tips, and market/shopping insight. Eric was extremely engaging and helpful and truly made this an experience we’ll never forget. We did the 10:30am tour and I would definitely recommend a tour during this time as the market gets super packed later in the day. The size of the group was perfect, exactly 10 people made it feel intimate and VIP. The variety of food we got to taste was surprising! We had so much fun and ate so much! We can’t recommend this tour enough and look forward to booking future tours with this company!

My tour with Chef Sean was amazing! He was funny and knowledgeable, about the food and history of Pike Place Market. He even told us about how vendors worked together during covid to survive and how the market helps the surrounding community. It's so much more than food and shopping.
But the food. Yum! We stopped at so many delicious places, I can't wait to go back and try them all again.
I highly recommend this tour if you're in town visiting and have no clue where to start on the restaurant list.

Chef John was an amazing guide and he did a great job guiding us thru the market on a busy Saturday morning. The only reason I’m not giving it 5 stars is because the food samples were very limited and most of which anyone can obtain during any visit. The real gems have long lines with hour of wait time and those are the places this tour should have had access to for guests to experience. You can easily see which of these places has the hood just by seeing the lines in front . If this tour offered that even at a higher price it would be spectacular.

The tour of Pikes Market was awesome. We explored many facets of Pikes and sampled at every stop - cheeses, yogurt, coffee, truffles, sausages, chowder, and more. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable about the market’s history, variety of vendors, and types of food on site. Everyone in our small group of four loved this tour and would highly recommend it to others.

John the tour guide was energetic and entertaining. His knowledge level was developed enough that he was able to teach us new things about the foods we saw, and not be pedantic. We explored areas we would not have ventured into on our own. Even in areas that stores were not yet opened he was able to bring things to life. Some in our group who visited new their own the day before felt the tour was invaluable in making sense out of an otherwise chaotic maze.

This activity was one of the absolute highlghts of our Seattle trip! Our guide, Eric, was THE BEST! He not only was informative about food and the market, but answered lots of questions about Seattle and its culture in general. The time flew by, and we were sorry to see the tour end, because we could have spent all day exploring with our amazing guide. The samples were great and when we went back to Pike Place Market the second day we felt confident browsing and knew what shops and stalls we wanted to return to. We were so glad this was the first tour we took on our four-day stay. Eric's upbeat positivity, his willingness to share his "foodie" facts and tips, and his humorous hospitality all made the Chef Tour phenomenal for us. Thanks again!

Chef Liz was an amazing guide. You could truly see that she was proud of the city and the people who make the city and restaurants run. She was very thorough in her description and history of Pike Market and she was so much fun. I highly recommend this tour to get a little taste of what's available in Seattle.

My wife is a foodie…and Sean was simply the best..very very informative. We would like to come back and spend a month eating our way through Pike Place and follow all of Sean’s recommendations. Highly recommend any first time visit to Seattle and Pikes place, that you do this tour at the beginning of your time in the City

What am amazing experience. Worth every penny spent and probably more (paid the difference in tip😉). Chef Sean was extremely knowledgeable about the food industry and the vendors of Pike Place. The vendors provided generous tasting portions and history/origin of food. The vendors shared the process of making their specialty items. Name dropping chef Sean gave us 10% off at most places as well as he provided us a code to use at certain locations.
Chef Sean advised that all tours are a little bit different and taking you to different places to taste the food. So definitely worth a second trip maybe even a third. Highly recommend asking for chef Sean to guide your tour even though he assures us at all the chefs are very knowledgeable.

How suitable this tour is for Muslims? meaning, is there pork or bacon in the samples?
Written December 4, 2023
I believe there is pork or bacon in some of the samples. But if you tell the chef in advance, they will make sure your samples don’t have those ingredients.
Written December 5, 2023
Recommend to select an early time as it can be extremely busy at the market

The age restriction or suggested age limits?
We are 78 and 80...are we really too old for your tour?
Written August 13, 2022
Either no one cares about responding to the age guidelines for tours in Seattle or there is some definite age loathing going on in this city. One 4 Hour Seattle City Tour suggests ages 2 - 61...what? Another suggests 0 - 100...huh? Lmao!

I would like to book the 10:30 tour on June 10 for my family of 6 but the reservation system will only let me book for 5. Is there any way you can accommodate the group?
Written May 10, 2022
Call 206-745-0991. It's Eat Seattle tours. They will be able to answer your questions, if it already hasn't been answered.

Are the tours on each day of the week, if not what days and what times please? I would be thinking of booking when we arrive in Seattle, is that too late?
Written April 13, 2022
Go to the website for Eat Seattle Tours, click Book Now, and it will show a calendar with the available days.
Written April 15, 2022
My wife is Gluten free, will is this something that can be accommodated?
Written March 14, 2022
The tour company will ask you about any culinary restrictions when you sign up for the tour. Our guide, Chef Eric, made a point of asking the question immediately upon meeting us. I am not sure what specific changes they will make for Gluten free, but I have a shellfish allergy and they easily accommodated my restrictions. Please make sure to note your restrictions when signing up and make your tour guide aware. Enjoy!!!
