About the operator
- Andrew S00Poor tour guide, makes for a poor tourTour guide was self centered with very little appreciation for reading a crowd. He asked if it would be alright if he went over the allotted time and everyone agreed, anticipating seeing more. However it just turned into rambling stories or jokes that were not funny. The tour ended for my wife and I (and about half the group) when a person in a wheelchair fell on the sidewalk in front of our whole group. He just stood next to the man who was getting helped up back into his wheelchair) and repeating again and again the gentlemen’s cell phone is going to break. There are a lot of responses that a person can have in a situation like that and a person who acts like that is not fit for giving tours. Now let’s get to the food part of the tour- we went to the places that offered free samples (to the public) and came in with our large group and got our samples and left. Felt very unwelcome at some stops. NOTHING was behind the scenes, just a walk through the market and an ill fitted guide. He seemed stoned or just super burnt out. Waste of time and money.
- Patricia P00A Great Way to Experience Pike Place!Taste Pike Place Walking Food Tour was a fabulous way to hear the history of the market, learn about the business owners featured, and taste several samples of the variety of foods offered at the Market. Our tour guide, Sarah, had a lot of great stories to share and it was obvious that she loved Pike Place and all it represents. I would recommend this tour as a great intro to the Market. I can’t wait to go back and spend a little more time wandering through the market and enjoying all the fabulous things Sarah pointed out.
- madelynp4700Great tour guide and tasty food samplesSarah was a great guide through Pike Place and gave excellent recommendations to continue our visit in Seattle! The tour gave us a nice variety of food samples that showed off the city’s culture and environment.
- GaTechYellowJacket00Great private tourWe did a 4 hour private tour with Shawn during a layover in Seattle. He planned a great tour for us that included highlights of the city, a visit to the Space Needle, walking around the Public Market, pictures with the Troll, and seeing the locks. Overall it was a great tour and we learned a lot.
- Wander6125018246900EnjoyableWe had an excellent time Dani our guide was knowledgeable and a delightful personality I would recommend the food was very good
- NorthStar7311100Wonderful!Matthew, the "Singing Driver", was outstanding. Very knowledgeable about Seattle, the sights, landmarks, and neighborhoods. And, he entertained us throughout the trip with a rendition of songs from his experiences with the theatre. Got to the airport on time!
- 604trumanb00Great Samples on the Taste Pike Place Walking Food TourDani gave us a great overview of the Pike Place Market, with yummy samples & recommendations. An easy walking tour & 2 hours barely scratches the surface.
- LindaMontreal_Quebec00Fantastic Tour a Must Do in Seattle! We were 4 people taking the Taste Pike Place Walking Food Tour, 2 of us were traveling from Montreal and 2 of us recently moved to Seattle. We were lucky enough to have Woody as our tour guide. He made it thoroughly enjoyable and also taught us so much about the history of Pike Place Market. What a fantastic place. The food samplings were great. When at the end of the tour Woody asked us all what was our favorite food, the reply in unison was everything. This is a wonderfully enjoyable tour and I would recommend it to everyone. Thanks Woody!
- 119albertp00Booking This Tour Might Depend on How You Like to be Treated1. Our tour of Seattle with Show Me Seattle Tours was a mixed bag. The initial pickup was definitely a zero. The tour itself is about a four, so an average of two. 2. I booked the post-cruise tour online for 1 Sep 23 directly on the Show Me Seattle web page. The tour included an overall general tour of Seattle, plus we opted for the additions of the Pike Place Market and the Space Needle for additional cost. 3. The confirmation email said the meeting time for our pier would be 8:20a. The tour would then go to another pier for an 8:45a pickup, and the tour would start at 9:00a. The confirmation email said, “NOTE: Pick-up times subject to change – the reservations team will contact you with update.” 4. Of course, you never really know how long it will take to get off a cruise ship. Sometimes it’s 10 minutes. Sometimes it’s 90 minutes. You just never know. Our debarkation from Celebrity Solstice was pretty smooth, so we arrived at the meeting point at 7:45a, figuring we had about a 35-minute wait until the tour bus showed up. There were two others from another ship at the same pier location who got there about 15 mins before we did. There was no one from Show Me Seattle at the meeting point location. (For us, this was bus Lane R just outside the cruise terminal 91 building.) Rather there is another bus/transfer company who operates out of Lane R. The woman gruffly told us to stand about twenty feet away with the other two people. At 8:20a, there’s no bus. I call the office. The person says the port might be crowded, so it might take a bit for the bus to show up. Maybe 15 mins later, I got a text from the driver asking how many people were there. I said four. He replied there should be twelve passengers, so he has to wait. Four more people showed up about 10 mins later, then two more later, then two more another 15 mins later. (Btw, the last couple to show up said their confirmation email said to be at the meeting point at 8:45a). The bus finally arrived at the meeting point at about 9:00a. We’d been standing outside since 7:45a, so this is an hour and fifteen minutes. Imagine standing outside the terminal building for so long and knowing the terminal people don’t really care how badly you need to go to the bathroom. They just don’t want you back inside. And no benches at the meeting point, so we were standing this entire time. There was a snack shack nearby, but can you risk this not knowing when the bus will arrive, if ever? 5. After we loaded the bus, I tried to ask the driver (Jim) what happened on the meeting point times. He says the tour is supposed to start at 9:00a, and he was there right at 9:00a. If I’m unhappy, he’ll take me directly to the airport. He said the fact that we were told be at the meeting point at 8:20a was not his business. 6. The actual tour of Seattle was very good. The only negative was our time at the top of the Space Needle was cut to about 15-20 mins because of traffic and long line at the entry point, plus there were people on this part of the tour that needed to be at Sea-Tac by 4:00p which is still 15 mins beyond the Show Me Seattle advertised Sea-Tac drop-off time of 3:45p. Otherwise, the tour guide was energetic and very knowledgeable about Seattle. 7. In summary, if you want a very good tour of Seattle and don’t mind be treated without any regard to your own time, this is might be a good option for you. If you want a very good tour of Seattle and want to be treated like a valued customer, I suggest you look elsewhere.
- Departure76455900Fun and great food!Sarah is a great tour guide bringing lots of enthusiasm and knowledge. She shared local information as well as information about Washington state.
- paulbM6128YK00Great experience, super informativeLucky did a great job of explaining the history of the Market. All the samples were great. Easy walk. Overall great experience. 5 Star
- Maps0638962085300A great visit to Pike PlaceKC was our guide around Pike Place Market and could not have been any more helpful and informative. After being let down by the vague address to start the tour KC called us and helped this confused Englishman find the start of the tour. Even though we did the tour in a busy Saturday morning KC was able to keep the whole group together and fought the crowds to get us samples from vendors. Thoroughly enjoyed the tour and was so much better than us just wandering around the market. I would thoroughly recommend to visitors coming to Seattle.
- travellover3019600Great tour by CaseyGreat tour, covering so much of the market. We really enjoyed the tour by Casey! She was energetic and patiently got us through the crowds. Casey was a fun storyteller with so much interesting information about the market. We would have been lost wandering the large market, but the tour allowed us to see the high points and taste lots of delicious food.
- elliezona00Fantastic, delicious tour of Pike MarketThis tour of Pike Place Market was fantastic! Our tour guide was Imogen, who was animated, fun, and full of knowledge about the history of the market. And the food samples were amazing! Highly recommended this tour for any visitors to Seattle!
- Fearless31665600Excellent tour! The tour was well organized and so much fun! Really tasty food samplings, interesting history and stories. Our tour guide, Sarah, was friendly, very knowledgeable, and funny. I have lived in Seattle for over 10 years, but learned a lot about the history of Pike Place Market and really enjoyed the tour. I definitely recommend going with an empty stomach so you can enjoy all the food samples, which are good sizes!

Two of the same tour, two different experiences. Due to my boyfriend not coming the first time we did it again. Our first driver was wonderful, knowledgeable, Hope to interesting facts and notions about the city and fun to listen. Our second trip was boring, dry, incorrect in information or at least inconsistent, drove poorly (hitting curbs and honking at ppl, over revving engine to get up hills etc) and not at all like the first trip except for the major spots. Except he didn’t hit the space needle at all, took an extraordinary long time on talking to us about salmon. I would highly recommend asking about who your driver is and what your trip will be like to understand your experience as they are not all the same. My driver on the second one was named Mark and worked as a teacher during the year. Yes he’s very knowledgeable but we didn’t get exactly what we thought we would.

We traditionally look for tours on our first day in a new city to acclimate ourselves and make final decisions as to what we would like to visit while there. We have never ever had a tour guide as experienced, enthusiastic, and genuinely caring as James! His knowledge of history of the area, his passion for nature and all its beauty, and his humor made the three hours absolutely fly by! We made new plans and changed some plans we originally made because of the wonderful things we learned.
Book this tour!!! You’ll be happy you did!

James Grindle was our tour guide. He did an excellent job of navigating us to the different areas of Seattle and explaining the history behind them.
We enjoyed this tour and wished we had booked it for the beginning of our vacation in Seattle versus the last day we spent in the city.
This tour is a must to get the most out of your vacation and learn the different areas and what there is to see in them.
We liked that the tour is kept to a minimum number of tourists, makes for a better experience.

The tour was great to get an overview & orientation of the Seattle city. James was very informative & kept the tour going on time as best he could. He also kindly adjusted the tour stops to accommodate riders that needed to use a restroom & was patient & helpful with my elderly father. There was bottled water available. The bus wasn't full so there was some social distancing.
I would rate this tour 5 stars but for the following issues:
1. No hotel pickup at the Fairfield Marriott on 7th & John. My father is elderly & has trouble walking long distances. We had to drive around for over 20 minutes to finally find the closest parking spot which was still over 4 blocks from the Westlake pick-up by Wells Fargo. My father was pretty exhausted after the walk to the bus. I was told about a garage nearby but had difficulty finding the entrance & couldn't tell how far that walk would have been to the tour bus pickup.
2. When I called to get more info on the tour I was told it did not require much walking. But there was walking required to see the sites, including stairs, that again made it more difficult for my father to keep up with the group. James was very patient & directed my father for the shortest route. He also dropped us as close as he could to the street we parked on while still staying on his route.

This was an exceplent small group city tour. DC was cery knowledgable about Seattle’s past and present, and told some entertaining stories during our drive. We LOVED the salmon ladder, which I had no idea existed, and very much appreciated the 30 minute stop there. If you’re looking for a great city tour to hit the highlights when you first arrive, Show Me Seattle (with DC as a guide) is the company to go with!

This was one of the best tours we have ever had, and we have been on many city tours and excursions over the years. The main reason we enjoyed it so much was our excellent tour guide, James Grindle. He was well read, incredibly well informed and full of wonderful details about Seattle, it’s history, it’s plants and wildlife, it’s architecture and current events. There were very few aspects of Seattle that he did not describe. There were so many tidbits I wanted to remember, I wish I had taken notes! He is a highly effective communicator and he had a passion for what he was doing and it showed. He made us feel like we got more than more than our money’s worth. I highly recommend this tour, especially with James. If the other guides are even half as good as he is, you won’t be disappointed.

very knowledgeable and personable guide for the tour. His commentary about the architecture and history of the city and surrounding communities made the tour one of the best city tours we've taken. We highly recommend this tour and James Grindle as your guide.
