Overview
There are many Salem tours out there but few are as compelling as this one, led by a local historian who brings you to some of the most spooky areas at the time of day you choose. If you enjoy being scared, pick a nighttime tour led by lantern light. Visit the Burying Point, as well as modern-day practicing witches as your guide tells stories of the haunted history of Salem, Massachusetts.
What to Expect
This Salem walking tour meets in Derby Square. Get acquainted with your local historian guide, and from the beginning, feel the excitement for this subject just as much as he does.

Your guide takes you to some of the spookiest places in the city, including one of the oldest cemeteries in Massachusetts: the Burying Point. Pass by the haunted seaport, as well as the McIntire District.

Your guide tells you tales of the Salem witch trails as well as popular haunting stories. As your tour goes on, you’ll also meet modern-day witches that still practice witchcraft.

Your tour ends on Charter Street by the Burying Point.

Note: Book the nighttime tour for an even scarier experience; your guide will lead you around Salem by lantern light.

I would verify with their scheduling desk and watch the weather. If it is very cold/snow/rain you may want to look at another day.

I don't know if they do a lantern tour. You would have to contact the tour guide for that information. We took our tour during the daytime. Sorry I can't help you out.

I'd say the whole walk is approximately 2.5-3 miles, and the tour is about 2-1/2 hrs. It is a very informative and interesting tour.
