Awesome tour
We happened to stumble upon this gem while looking for a bar crawl. Made same day reservations. Emzy explained the different tours and helped us make a great choice. The tour was awesome. Plenty of time to get a drink or two at each stop. Get your steps in and learn a ton about the area. Also went to bars that I otherwise wouldn't have known existed. Definitely worth booking. Tour lasted a little over 5 hours.

Awesome tour with so much information!
My husband and I were in town for a wedding, so we signed up for a few walking tours as we've never been in San Antonio before. Emzy was such a fantastic guide! He is so passionate and knowledgeable about the city's history. He has done so much of his own research into historical events and loves to share. We did the Straight Up tour and loved it.

Great Tour - personal service
We were in San Antonio for a weekend stay. At the last minute, we decided to find a history/folklore tour. Tripadvisor returned several but what is not to like about a history tour that takes you to bars!?? But, alas, the online booking showed full. So I called Emzy and he quickly added us to his 6:00 tour with 2 other couples. This tour was supposed to last 2.5 hours but at 9 we were still talking and drinking! Emzy knows his stuff and small group made this tour personal - no need to scream your questions in a crowd! I've done a lot of these kinds of tours in cities all over the US and this was by far the best expereince we have had! Highly recommend.

Most amazing way to spend a Sunday night in the city!
My fiancee and I joined Emzy for a Sunday evening Barwalk tour that consisted of 4 unique bars. The group was only 6 people, plus Emzy, which was the perfect size for getting to know one another. Emzy was a fantastic tour guide - I think it's safe to say he knows outstanding amount of San Antonio history. He kept us engaged with so many amazing stories and had excellent recommendations for signature drinks at each of the bars we visited. If there is one tour you go on in San Antonio, please let it be this one. You will not have this great of a time anywhere else!

History with a drink
First off, my apologies to Emzy for not posting sooner. My wife and I took a chance on this tour after reading the brochure in our resort lobby. But after meeting Emzy and taking the 2.5 hour tour, we both learned a lot about San Antonio history and were entertained at the same time. His knowledge of San Antonio and it's history is actually amazing. And he has taken the time to research and gather pictures to share. If we have a regret with the tour is we did not sign up for the five hour tour. Next time we visit San Antonio, we will look up Emzy again for a another tour.

Fabulous history tour with plenty of beverages to keep you hydrated!
We took the classic evening tour with Emzy and WOW is all we can say! There was a perfect mix of history and bars... his passion was so clear and it really made this tour! Not your average mass market tour so if you’re up for a laugh and keen to learn the history of SA (everything you didn’t think you needed know) then don’t hesitate to book! We visited 4 bars over the duration as well as exploring some amazing historic buildings - the last stop was the most amazing cocktail bar, mixing drinks to your individual tastes. Can’t thank Emzy enough, we won’t forget this experience! Do yourself a favour and book this tour - if you’re in to boutique experiences (and not the overpacked bus tours) this is for you!

Nooners tour
We visited San Antonio early last week and found this tour via AirBNB. This is Emzy's new offering (Alamo, downtown, lunch together and then the Menger Hotel), we met outside the Alamo and he regaled us with information regarding the history of the siege and of those that perished in battle. Emzy is a self proclaimed history nerd and proud of it. We learned so much from him that you won't find in the history books! He loves San Antonio and is a walking encyclopedia. Although the weather was rainy and cold we had a great time!!!! We would definitely do this again!

A BarWalk thru History
My sister and I came to town for a last minute quick get a way. This tour is a great way to get to know San Antonio. Emzy was an amazing tour guide and he knows his stuff. Everywhere we went they knew him personally and we were treated like celebrities. We also enjoyed the couple that toured with us. We left with a lot of knowledge and 3 new friends.

Best tour we went on in San Antonio!
My wife and I were the only people who registered for our Wednesday night tour, and it was incredible. Our tour guide, Emzy, knows, loves and is San Antonio. While in San Antonio we went on a total of six tours and this one was the cream of the crop. All of the other tours had a guide who was retired, a student or a freshly graduated student, which was fine. The other guides all had a script which they followed, but not Emzy. Emzy is a student of San Antonio and knows his information because he has studied and learned it. Emzy's tour was very much catered to us. He asked us several times how much information we wanted and the topics we found interesting. When we registered, we signed up for the classic tour which indicated it was 5+ hours long, but we were on this tour for 7 hours and it was wonderful. Emzy truly is a historian of this beautiful city. Highly, highly recommend.

The Barwalk is Great & Informative!! Not to be Missed...
We were a group of 4 four friends traveling and happened upon this tour by chance. What luck! Such a fantastic night with Emzy. We learned more about this historical city than I could have ever imagined. Emzy improvised, answered all of our many questions and couldn't have been more accommodating (especially during the busy holiday season). He clearly knew his way around the city and the locals which helped us bypass many of the bar lines. Drinks were great (especially the Bloody Mary's). He could have kept us going all night...Don't miss this event while visiting wonderful San Antonio

Fun and Interesting
This was an activity planned by our friends. We don't go to bars for fun and we don't actually drink very much. But you don't have to be a bar person or a drinker to enjoy this tour! It is actually more of a history walking tour that happens to revolve around a number of historical bars/hotels in San Antonio. Each tour will be different as the number of bars/hotels you see depends on how quickly your group goes through each venue. Emzy (yes, his mother named him that) is very passionate about history and digging into details no one else may take the time to look into. The time you spend on this tour is up to you. You can leave any time you are ready to, or keep him as late you want to too - I don't think he'll ever run out of stories! You will have time at each bar to buy a drink and/or appetizer, but neither is required. I would highly recommend this fun tour to anyone who is interested in quirky history.
