- curlySgirl0 contributionsOnce was enough for usI enjoyed being able to view the sites in downtown Ottawa like the Chateau Laurier, Centennial Park and Rideau Canal. Our guide was very organized and friendly and you could tell she really enjoyed doing the tours. The ghost stories aren't that scary and maybe it's the skeptic in me wondering how true some of them were. I wasn't that captivated and had a hard time paying attention to everything she was saying. I found them a bit drawn out and long at points. The tour was ruined for us by someone bringing a toddler and letting them run loose at each location. The child was yelling and making lots of noise jumping all over the place. The parents didn't seem that concerned about this kid running everywhere. I wish they wouldn't allow people to bring kids that young because it ruined the whole spooky mood that was supposed to be on the tour. It was also a very large tour with at least 25 people. I wish it had been a bit smaller.Written October 22, 2024

- Clara19530 contributionsDiscover the history of the Château LaurierThis is a new tour and it is very interesting because of the historical significance of the Château Laurier. This very impressive hotel was built in the early 1900s to accommodate train travellers to Ottawa.Written September 26, 2024
- K8272JSbettyh0 contributionsGreat Tour, Great GuideThe tour was an exceptional experience. Our guide imparted her wealth of information about the hotel clearly and enthusiastically. She made me appreciative of the history of the city and the hotel's contributions to it.Written September 20, 2024
- 113dragang0 contributionsI recommend this tour to anyone who wants to learn about this wonderful hotel and the history of OttawaThe tour was very educational and well planned. A nice balance between the history of the hotel and the interesting things of the recent era. Perhaps it would be useful if the tour lasted a little longer so that the knowledge of an experienced guide could be transmitted at a slower pace. I recommend the tour, very nice and educational!Written September 4, 2024

- 743louisep0 contributionsAwesome tourReally informative trip showing us parts of the city we had previously missed whilst walking around! Claire was an awesome guide with lots of knowledge and as such we are now looking to book the Toronto experience. Lots of walking as to be expected but was at a good pace with lots of stops usually with walls of benches to sit upon.Written August 23, 2024
- pamh7690 contributionsInteresting tour - highly recommend!Zak was an excellent tour guide and shared many interesting stories about the hotel and the people that stayed there. - 566biaa0 contributionsInteresting spooky walk 👻It was an interesting walk to know haunted stories in ottawa downtown area, started at sparks street old post office building, followed the canal till city hall. Our guide told the stories in an interesting way, walk was around an hour or bit more.Written June 23, 2024
- Rodneyho0 contributionsGreat story telling, fun diversionMargot, our host, told her ghost stories without any cheesy vocal or visual effects. She chose not to channel Vincent Price or Elvira. Rather, she kept it all conversations and relatable, taking questions and providing her sources like a good journalist. And given we did most of our tour in daylight, that worked fine. She also offered up solid contextual information about Ottawa history, various buildings and why there might have been ghosts in different places. Definitely worth the money.Written June 14, 2024
- RonS24800 contributionsMoney and time we’ll spent for this fun night out evening activityWonderful night walk on this guided ghost walk in the Beechwood Cemetery in Ottawa. Eilish, our tour guide did a great job leading our adventure and weaving stories for our entertainment. Pretty incredible setting including a peak inside the 100 year old beautiful mausoleum. Thanks for a great time!Written May 25, 2024

This was an excellent tour; great way to get into the Halloween spirit. It was well researched, Covid safe, and definitely spooky :) It was such a treat to be able to walk around the grounds of the MacKenzie King Estate in the dark while listening to the guide tell fascinating stories of Canada's 10th Prime Minister. A tour I would highly recommend this tour.

We were so excited for this experience for my friend’s birthday. Haunted Walk warned us of road closures ahead of time and we followed the map provided to us. When we got about 1KM from our destination, a new road closure had occurred and there was no way to get there. There were 5-7 cars worth of people trying to get in and also calling customer service. As we were in the middle of Gatineau Park, phone service has super spotty but we did manage to get a hold of customer service, who assured us that they were aware and someone was on their way. It took a long time (at least 40 minutes), but the NCC eventually did come to open to gates for us..... But we missed ur tour and Haunted Walk would only accommodate our group in an hour and a half’s time. They would not budge on this and the representative at the meeting spot was uncompromising and condescending as if her tour’s gates being closed was somehow our fault. When I asked if there was another option to sitting in a parking lot for an hour and a half, I was told I MIGHT be able to get a refund. MIGHT. I ended up getting one with little apology and no opportunity to make up for the drive to get there, the wait in the Forest in the dark and then the completely missed experience. So disappointing.

Only 20 mins from downtown Ottawa the estate was easy to find with gps. We had perfect weather. No wind or rain or bugs. Cool fall night with clear skies & bright moon. A full moon would have been a spooky treat.
The guide was friendly & knowledgable. We had plenty of time to view the buildings & artifacts.
Our group was smaller & quieter. That added to the atmosphere. You don’t want people laughing & carrying on etc.
Loved the ghost stories.
Be sure to dress for the weather with comfortable shoes.

We wanted to attend a haunted walk for Halloween, and we wanted to try something new, so this was perfect. The tour started at 7, but we arrived about an hour early to enjoy the changing leaves in the beautiful woods of Gatineau Park. Our guide was very knowledgeable about the property. The tour wasn't too scary (which we liked), and it was a great opportunity to learn more about the park and the Mackenzie King property (and the man himself). There was free parking, they provided excellent directions, you get a keepsake flashlight, and they were very well organized. The tour lasted about 1.5 hours. We really enjoyed it, and would recommend it to others :)
