This place seems to be a stop for all tour groups on their way to Colca Canyon. Even though it's usually quite early in the morning the locals seemed very keen to put something on for the tour groups that stop. So there are ladies...More

We were headed out to see the Condors at Cruz del Condors and stopped on the way to see the morning dance in the plaza. Colorful costumed locals danced and streets vendors peddled their wares. A nice way to start your Colca Canyon day.

We made a 15 minute stop here on the way back from Condor Point before our 5 hour drive back to Arequipa. What a little gem! The streets were buzzing locals in their traditional outfits and their adorable Alpacas. We found a Colca Sours stand...More

The day we arrived, there was a festival in progress with a parade and markets so it was full of dancing and music. Delightful!

You're not going to visit Yanque just to see the church, but you can get a great photo of the church with the erupting volcano in the background. At the moment the church hasn't been fully repaired and us being supported by wooden poles.

Our tour group stopped here in the early morning. The local school children are doing the local folk dance around the fountain for donations that they use to go on school trips. Our guide shared an interesting history of why both men and women wear...More

We had to wait our ride here and it was really nice. In the square there are ol ladies selling local stuff, mostly made of lama/alpaca wool. And plus, there's a group of kids in traditional clothes singing and dancing. Also Some ladies with alpacas,...More
