Vardon Canyon, through which the Vardon River passes, extends for about 25 miles and reaches depths of about 700 meters. Some call it the most beautiful mall in Europe. In French, the word “rose” means “green,” which is why Vardon Canyon is named Vardon, after...More

Absolutely worth a visit. We travelled in early July. We did the clockwise route around the Gorge starting with D952. We had travelled over from western Provence towards Moustiers through beautiful fields of lavender before going for a swim in Lac de Sainte Croix at...More

Beautiful place to visit. Hire a canoe and go early in the morning as it gets very busy. The views are spectacular. Would give it a 5 but for the crowds.

Fabulous place to kayak for beginners but get there early (before 9.00 am) to avoid the crowds as it gets very busy and has a very different feel thereafter.

I recommend a boat ride, route de cretes and a visit to the nice towns near the canyon. Definetly worth the trip.

Very pretty. Nice mountains and great clear rivers. Good to see from a boat or kannoo. Don’t pay too much.

The boat trip is a great way to spend a few hours on a nice day. The inlets are very interesting and scenic, the water some fascinating colors.
