We visited on a day when it was blowing a gale and very cold. This heightened our experience as it made us appreciate the harsh environment that formed this historic site. It was sobering to see the churning sea whilst remember those who died at...More

I do believe in entrance fees for up keep for attractions especially ones that are full of history-but almost 20 dollars each person to see a lighthouse to me is way too steep.People usually come a fair way to see attractions such as this, so...More

Having read your review I wonder if you actually came in and experienced what's on offer? Majority of our visitors find the experiences on offer at the Cape Otway Lightstation valuable and worthy of the entrance fees. The lightstation precinct consists of 6 heritage buildings...More

The maps shown outside of the lighthouse "park" suggest that inside you might see koalas, kangaroos or wallabies and echidnas. Once we paid the entrance fee we got a map of the premises handed over, just entered the park without checking the map thoroughly and...More

We are sorry your main purpose to visit the lighthouse was to see wildlife. The map is an artist's impression of the area incorporating whales, old ships and wildlife as we certainly do have wildlife visit on a regular basis - we've even had a...More

This self guided tour is a must for all Victorians. Learn so much about our history and WW2 involvement and Aboriginal roots and dinosaurs in the area. Lots of overseas visitors venture thru.

We passed the Cape Otway Lightstation turn-off while driving The Great Ocean Road from Warrnambol to Apollo Bay. It intrigued us, so today we drove back to see it. There is a fee to enter the area, but they offer more than just a chance...More

This was an unexpected gem of a day - lovely spacious, well-maintained site with so much history that we never learned in school, and so much to see. Pam showed us the lighthouse on which she is an absolute expert and then gave a fantastic,...More

Beware of this place, the only thing you can do for free is go to the toilet. An obscured small note on the highway advises there’s a fee, but $20 just to walk a kilometre to see a lighthouse is an absolute ripoff.More

There are 6 signs (1m x 1m) along the 12km road stating that fees apply to enter the Lightstation Precinct. This is also included on our website, social media and brochures. We work incredibly hard to restore and maintain the heritage buildings and employ over...More
