The Palacio is quite far from all areas of Lisbon in which I spent most of the time, i.e. the old town center. However, the visit is worth the tram ticket and the time spent to reach the place, since the Palacio represents a very...More

Incorrect online informations about opening hours / guided visits. The employee was starting the tour about 2 meters away from the closed ticket sale and unwilling to let us participate with a snobby and arrogant explanation. No fixed tour starts mentioned on the website and...More

We had yet to visit the palace it self or its gardens; but we attended a one act comedy staged in the palace in its novre chamber. The comedy A French in Paris by Louis de Boussy was wonderfully played; with a perfect vestuary and...More

You have to get a ticket to go inside (3€), but the gardens and the cellar are for free. The inside has been left empty, though there are very beautiful tiles (mismatched unfortunately) worth to see. The gardens are quite simple but pleasant.

The palace and surrounding area are must visit. Check for special programs, plays, concerts, re-enactments, light shows, definitely worth visiting. This was the summer house of the Marquis de Pombal, the prime minister in the XVIII century who was responsible for the reconstruction plans for...More

Has a nice large garden with the powerful fountain that reminds you have a Gaudi structure from Barcelona. The palace interior is impressive with nice tiles and ceilings. Only shame is the lack of interior furniture but that is a result of historical circumstances. If...More

Very nice example of XVIII architecture. Currently under renovation therefore not at its full splendor. Gardens are very interesting however fountains are off waiting renovations so not at its full great look yet. No charge to visit gardens is certainly a plus. Can't wait to...More

No you have to negotiate stirs to go in and to see the lower part and the garden . It was built in the years of the XVIII century where people did not think about it I think even Windsor was built like it
