I was a little timid because I can be claustrophobic. This excursion was eye opening. The caves are very deep & high. They seem to go on & on. You ride in a boat & they give I a hard hat for safety tho it...More

If you are visiting Barbados you MUST go this this attraction. This is one of the most beautifully preserved locations in the Caribbean. The train takes you through marvellous caves preserved for 1000s years. Bring a rain jacket and camera
The magic of seeing these amazing natural stalactites (hanging from the ceiling) and stalagmites (projecting up from the ground), the lighting, the opportunity to get out of the tram and take photos, and the tour guide's commentary, made it a memorable experience.

No definitely not. You can get a local taxi driver to take you and he’ll be very grateful for the business. These guys are often overlooked in favour of tour buses yet your money will go a long way for them and in return they’ll give you more information and sights of local interest than generic guides. We used a cab guy for 2 days worth of ferrying around where we wanted to be. You’d never get that with an organised tour.
Or you could hire a car.
