Walking along the wall and waterfront you come to this door/gate to get into the city. There's a little history sign there and a great opportunity to pictures.

We explored Old San Juan and part of the route was walking through the door. It was definitely a cool experience. Old San Juan is beautiful and this was the threshold from the waterfront and into the city.

We enjoyed our walk through the city gate and around the city wall. It is worth the time to visit and see. Our kids got a kick out of all the cats.

Historic and last remaining of several doors to Old San Juan. Be sure to take the walk along paseo de la princessa and go thru the door and up to the church. Well worth the walk.

Walked through the San Juan Gate which the ancient city gate where all visitors will pass this gate in ancient times. It is stone on inner side and painted red on outer side facing the sea.

This was another well preserved historic sight next to the bay that was old but very clean. The people here have great respect and the highest of artistic genius in Old San Juan.

No tickets required! Only for the fortresses and they are cheap. The beaches are good and you can do as you like. Pretty safe IMHO.
