Beautiful views. I am not sure if I like this fort better than El Morro. They’re both similar, yet unique in their own way. Great city view, cruise, and La Perla photos from here that you can’t get from El Morro. It also has a...More

We went to both the forts while there. Your park ticket is good for both and for 2 days. We walked all over the city one day and went to the one with the cemetery, the other the next day. They are enormous and there's...More

Maybe 4000 years ago this fort stood to protect San Juan. Pretty cool experience to see and experience part of Puerto Rico History. Worth visiting.

We had a leisurely walk about the fort. Plenty of signage to read about the history of the site. It was a very hot day, so enjoyed the breeze off the water.

Love exploring this bit of history on this special island. Go early to beat the heat. Very old and lots of nooks and crannies to explore. Be sure to read and listen to the stories.

You can walk up to the entrance of el Morro but they close at 6:00 pm. The view is magnificent. Do not go down to the cemetery in the early evening and stick to the streets that have a lot of pedestrians.

Taxis are sooo easy to find there. All the white cars are taxis and they have a flat rate based on distance so every taxi will charge the same. Our hotel had some sitting out front all the time just waiting for people

I would recommend the stroll, as others have, if you depart from the San Juan Bay dock. Nevertheless, take a Uber when in heavy rain or extreme heat.
