This Fort is right next to the Queens Staircase. Definitely a good stop. The vendors here were WAY better than the Straw Market. It was small but i feel like it was worth a stop, especially if you are going to the staircase.

We stopped as part of an island tour. It was a very interesting fort and the view was very nice worth the small fee to go in

As with many other reviewers, we visited Fort Fincastle after climbing the Queen’s Staircase. The fort is rather small, and appears to be more for show than for actual defense. Once you are there it is worth paying the nominal entrance fee and taking a...More

Very small, but 10-15mins with a guide is well worth it. The signs are all interesting and being at the top of the Queen's Staircase makes it a very convinient additional attraction.

Interesting historic fort with amazing views of the island from up top. Right beside The Queen's Staircase so its fun to see both.

Decided to check it out since we went to view the queens staircase. Costs 3 dollars plus tax to enter. Not a lot to see. You can walk around the outside for free. Worth the time to see it, but don’t pay to go inside.

Great history and a must see if doing the Queen's Staircase. The entry fee is minimal and the fort itself is not very big but it is neat to see.

We approached Ft. Fincastle after climbing up the adjacent Queen's Staircase (don't miss those!). There were dozens of taxis dropping off people who seemed to have come from docked cruise ships. We were also on a cruise, but skip the taxi . . . just...More

We drove up to see the castle with $3 entrance fee per person but didn’t go inside as we were so hot after walking around it, lots of local vendors there selling straw market gifts. No nice cafe and quite squalid really all around. If...More

There were a lot of cars, tourists and vendors around. We didn’t go inside but it is only three dollars. Also there are tons of vendors there. You can see the Ships from the hill.

Yes, there is a fee to get in. I recommend bringing small bills and small coins. They will give you change back but I their currency.
