This beach on the east coast if the island is like all of the beaches we have visited totally beautiful. What sets this apart is the views as you are driving across the island to reach the beach. It's totally mind blowing how beautiful this...More
Issues with severe rip tides, massive tide changes. Dangerous surf . Shallow reef. Even at low tide on reef , water like moving sidewalk will rip one off feet. Inviting tidal pools where large unexpected ocean waves will drag you out to sea. May injuries,...More

No words can describe the beauty of this location. We have to hope that the people of Barbados are able to stop any future development so it remains this way for future generations.
Added bonus you may get to see some talented surfers!

No, it has not been affected. However, keep in mind that the Atlantic ocean in Batsheba area is rough, the beach is rocky and though scenic for watching, it's not good for swimming, but best suited for surfing. It's a good spot to visit for an hour or two, enjoy the wild, untamed scenery, take some photos, but that's about it. I can not imagine spending more than an afternoon, let alone all of my vacation there. Unless you are an avid surfer and crashing waves are what you are looking for (in addition to an... uhm... authentic, rural, undeveloped area with literally nothing to do), go to the west side.
