While baroque and beautiful on the outside, especially when lit up at night, Santa Prisca is actually a small-town church that has been faithfully serving local parishioners for generations, from birth to death. Step inside and sit down and pay your respects, regardless of faith.

What I love about Taxco is how laid back and non touristy it is, this is really the real Mexico here and I loved my visit to the town. The church is simply gorgeous, pink and white and wonderfully adorned on the inside in traditional...More

One of the prettiest churches in Mexico. I have been here twice and would go back again. Its so peaceful to just sit inside the church. If you're headed to Taxco, its a must visit.

I've never seen a church altar like this in Santa Prisca! This is art, nearly 500 years old! It's a pity, - didn't hear this beautiful organ.

This Parish was build in 1748-1758. It’s the biggest example of Mexican baroque. In 1759 was considered the higher building in Mexico. Also have a unique organ and it wasn’t built with church money. It´s a place where you can enjoy time with your friends...More

Except for the remodel being accompanied on the dome, perfect inside and the steeples are fine. 1. On a most active Zocalo 2. Interior is very photogenic 3. The church is the main attraction from any distance including the drive into town

The Restoration of the facade and gold leaf interior is in progress. So,in a few years, it will be back to a perfect wonder. It truly is worth the UNESCO designation.
