A very popular destination so be prepared to either arrive at the parking lot very, very early in the morning or figure on taking the shuttle bus from the off site parking area. The shuttle bus drops you off at both Lake Louise or Moraine...More
If you are not there in a car by 10am, forget about going, they close the 8 mile road leading to the lake every day. If you can't drive there is a shuttle about 15 miles away from the lake itself that you can take....More
We got up very early to be at Moraine Lake’s parking lot before 7 am. Recently, the spaces were all filled by 8 am. It was a dark, snowy start to the day. We climbed up a short but very wet and slippery path and...More
We were lucky to get a parking spot later in the afternoon we’d driven past a few times and Road was closed.
You can’t argue this lake is beautiful but there are so many stunning lakes and views in the Rockies if you miss it...More
Stunningly beautiful. Lovely walk beside the lake to the rapids - the colours of everything, the lake, the foliage, the lichen were so vibrant.
On the downside, the café was very disappointing. When we arrived it was raining so we decided to go to the...More
Again a beautiful view on the lake Moraine, after a small climb of stairs. Stunning snowy views with a low sun. Very slippery after a fresh snowfall and a group of 60 people climbing the stairs. The view is worth it!
It was a windy cold day but this is a beautiful lake. It was off season and no place to get a coffee, plus construction taking place. However, I would recommend this if you are in the area and want to take beautiful pictures of...More
We arrived nice and early to ensure we got a parking spot. If you don't plan to get up early I would recommend the shuttle. We arrived around 9am in mid October and parking was easy. However this could possibly be due to the fact...More
We took the roam shuttle from Banff ($20 US for one adult round trip) in the advice of the hotel clerk who said that Oct 14 was the last day for the season to get to Moraine. However when we got there at 8:30am, still...More
Another busy place as traffic passes the turn off coming out of Lake Louise, no traffic can turn directly left off the approach road.

I can't be very optimistic. But let me suggest that you call Moraine Lake Lodge directly and explain your mobility restrictions. See what they say. The same goes for Lake Louise (phone the hotel) and Emerald Lake (phone the Lodge) should you choose to go there. All three locations were parking mayhem, I'm not exaggerating...but, at Fairmont Lake Louise, I noticed that gaining access to the hotel by car was being monitored by someone that had a list of guests. Did that include say, a guest for the dining room that might not be staying there? I don't know, but might be worth an inquiry. good luck - these are truly the most beautiful places.
