When we arrived in October 2019 the lake was almost empty. The water that was there was spotty and there were two moose playing in the puddles. Apparently when the water flow is low the lake dries up and the water sinks into cavities below...More

We saw this lake when we were heading to Maligne Lake. It was obvious there had been a fire, but it was striking against the blue lake. We also so mountain goats by the lake.

We stopped here to and from Lake Maligne - while it doesn't warrant any particular contemplation, the still water gives a mirror-like effect when viewed at ground level. We also saw our first pika here!

En route to the much larger Maligne Lake and with only a small pull over point rather than a big car park. I actually preferred this to its larger cousin further along the road. The first time we drove to it was at dusk and...More

Medicine Lake is a beautiful lake on the way to Maligne Lake. Unfortunately, forest fires have blackened most of the forests surrounding the lake.

My Husband and I recently returned from a trip to the Canadian Rockies. While there we drove to Medicine Lake and stopped to take some photographs. The Lake itself is beautiful but it is surrounded by burned trees that were taken from a fire several...More
