Fun drive on to icefield on specially designed bus with fun driver commentary. Ice itself where we were able to walk was mushy, needing decent footwear/boots and it was loaded with passengers from other buses.

We visited this attraction as it was included in our overall tour package so cannot comment on pricing at all. We arrived at the Visitor's Centre in the Jasper National Park and in a short time were transferred to another coach that took us to...More

A worthwhile stop between Jasper and Banff. The mountains surrounding the glacier are spectacular. However, additional sites nearby, such as waterfalls and viewing areas, are limited and controlled which diminishes the experience for those of us wanting to spend our own time there.

Walking up to this enourmous natural structure is a humbling experience. The closer you get the stronger becomes the katabatic wind blowing freezing air down the valley. This is nature in the raw but also nature in retreat as evidenced by the occasional signs showing...More

Being close and experiencing a glacier can only be magnificent. The glacier can be driven up to fairly close with a 10 minute walk up a fairly steep incline to the foot. The walk up is deceiving, it is steeper than it looks. It is...More

The Columbia Icefield and Glacier was a remarkable proof of how nature is awe inspiring. The Glacier and Skywalk were beyond belief. I m glad I had the opportunity to experience this on the way from Jasper to Banff

We had tickets in advance, so we got on the transport bus pretty quickly. From that moment until we returned to the Center, was one and one-half hours. Skywalk was closed the day we were there, so no help there.

If you're fit and mobile I strongly recommend doing the walking tour rather than the bus tour. It's the difference between walking 3km across the ice in a small group Vs getting on a packed bus and driving on the ice to... More
