There's lots to see in the Old Montreal area in terms of beautiful buildings, restaurants, shops and people walking around. We took a walking tour and learnt a lot about the history of this area - very worthwhile 2+ hours spent there

I try to visit the old port once every season if possible. Always loved the vibe. During summer time there’s a bunch of activities to attend. Such as fireworks for two months & festivities. La grande roue de Montréal is in Vieux port and it’s...More

Spent two days exploring the old city after a week long conference. Montreal is to be commended for preserving its heritage. The many galleries are worth exploring and there are many restaurants well worth the visit. The buskers and street artists make for a very...More

Absolutely beautiful and uncrowded when we were there. Small shops, great restaurants (big and small) and very friendly people anxious to help you find your way and enjoy your visit. I would recommend changing your money into Canadian to ensure you get the correct change....More

There are places in Old Montreal that are really outstanding, like the Basilique Notre-Dame-de-Montreal, but in general, Old Montreal is charming for a pleasant stroll to get from one destinatiion to another but not and end unto itself. It certainly feels more European than most...More

Rue St. Paul, one of the main streets, is a wonderful pedestrian street with sidewalk cafes, interesting shops, and an occasional artist, was delightful. Fun to drop into shops and chitchat with folks on the street.

Great place for delicious crepes and great shopping. Within walking distance to Notredame and with easy access by Metro. Since I love window shopping, some shopping, and good food, Old Montreal and St. Dennis street are two places to go every tie we visit Montreal.

Can’t say enough about this part of Montreal. Reminds me of southern France spending my days just walking around and enjoying the scenes and the people. Cannot wait to go back soon.

Great area to stroll around. Loads of restaurants and cafes. Most places worth seeing are easily walkable and the old quai area should be missed.
