An old plaza with great structures around including Basilique Notre-Dame-de Montreal. A gathering place for visitors and guitarists playing around. A "must visit" site for tourists in Montreal.

This square is graced by the Maisonneuve monument and is large enough to allow you to step back and appreciate the full frontal facade of Basilique Notre-Dame-de-Montreal.

On your way to the Notre-Dame Basilica of Montreal, take a few moments to enjoy the hubbub of Place d’Armes. There are lots of tourists, groups, and locals to observe. Sometimes there is so much activity it’s hard to know where to look first. There...More

So Wednesday night, Oct 9th had my pole dancing class at milan pole right around the corner as I drove by slowly through this square as there is often traffic, I heard the sweet sounds of an opera singer. Hadn’t heard that around there

Circa 1721, local militia would have gathered here, heeding the call to defend their "New Home" (Maisonneuve). The purpose for the square was to stage military events and this is the second oldest public site/gathering spot in Montreal and dates back to 1693. We've also...More

This is a nice area to walk through. It’s close to many popular destinations, most notably Notre Dame Basilica. There are often street performers there. It’s a good place to meet up and sit, or just pass through. Either way, you will probably not spend...More

A nice gathering place in Montreal adjacent to the Notre Dame basilica. There's almost always a street musician or dancer or two if the weather's nice. And there's plenty of opportunity to sit and people-watch -- a favorite pastime.

Most of the parking near the Basilica is street, parallel parking. Also, I know there was at least one small lot a block from the Basilica.
