This is a beautiful beach and well worth the steep climb down the steps to it and the hard work returning from the beach to the car park via the same steps. The sand is very clean and cliffs spectacular. If you take young children...More

Idyllic beach with spell bounding coastal erosion features. You can see all the different types of erosion in this one beach. Visited this beach as a part of our coastal walk from Carveiro (Hanging valleys walk). Some of the best sandy beaches can be seen...More

So many beaches are beautiful in Portugal but this beach is something special. Small and a walk down steps to get to but worth it. It is surrounded by beautiful cliffs, well worth a stroll. Be careful as sheer drops around some cliff tops.

Simply that, stunning!! Two things of note, the beach and the cliffs. The beach itself is beautiful. Not the largest in the area and it would be packed during high season, but for our visit in October, it was busy but not overly so. To...More

So glad we took an Uber from Carvoeiro to this beautiful beach. The rock formations are just lovely and there is also a 6 km boardwalk/ trail along the cliff tops with stunning views. The cafe on the beach has simple basic food- the grilled...More

This beach is a must visit!! It would be wise to bring food and drink before you get there so you are not forced to buy from local small vendors as there is nothing nearby. When you arrive at the top of the cliff, you...More

Good clean beach with a decent cafe. Great for kids but some supervision required in the sea. Well worth a visit.

Enjoyed walking along the top of the cliffs as pictures were great. Took stairs down to the beach. Nice little beach which was very clear and cool. Some people snorkelling and several people in the water. We were there in the afternoon around 2 and...More

The beach has ample parking space and the stairs down are easy to navigate. It is quite a stretch down (an up, more importantly), but the steps are even and there are plenty of low walls on the sides where you can rest a while...More

It was unpleasant experience. We went to enjoy water and swimming and we were disappointed. Beach looked a bit like garbage, water was muddy. My fiancee also cut his foot during swimming. It is not safe there.

I don’t know of one in particular but it’s a big touristy place so there should be.

Excellent answers from Alex and Cyrus (above). An alternative: We walked from to the village and down to a nearby beach and then to the beach at Carveiro, using roads, paths and some sidewalks. Be cautious of vehicle... More
