Baie Rouge was difficult to reach until we figured out that you have to get permission from the security guard hut. It's an exclusive area, but worth the hassle to get through the security gate. We just looked at the beach and didn't stay, but...More
My wife and I returned to SXM in July 2018 and loved this beach and spent many days enjoying the beauty of the water and scenery. We were able to rent chairs and an umbrella to help reduce the intense heat the sun and sand...More
What a secluded, scenic, secret spot ! Obviously now very different to what it previously was before Hurricane Irma. We had sourced it out the day before ( barely signposted ) and planned to go there early the next morning. We travelled by car.

Gus is back at Baie Rouge ❤ After recovering from Irma, he has cocktails, beer and water. Also limited beach chairs and umbrellas. He's working his way back to the former original bar with a smile on his face and a dream in his heart....More
This beach has great potential but on the day we visited, there was significant winds that caused waves as high as 15 feet (5 meters). Obviously, snorkeling and swimming was out of the question. We resorted to walking the entire stretch of the beach and...More

From Marigot you cross the bridge which is at Sandy-Ground and keep driving through Baie-Nettlé Bay. After you have passed the cluster of hotels the road will go up a bit of an incline and then take a sharp turn to the left.Do not turn since at the turn, straight ahead of you is the parking lot for Baie Rouge.
