The 3.5m high Flame of Liberty (Flamme de la Liberté) is a full-sized, gold-leaf-covered replica of the flame of the torch from the Statue of Liberty. Completed in 1987, but only installed at its current location in 1989. It is located near the northern end...More

This is a replica of the flame atop the Statue of Liberty. It is also used as a makeshift shrine to Princess Diana. Makes for a good photo op for American kids.

Though not constructed for Diana, the flame has memorialized her. Atop the tunnel where she died, the flame represents the liberty of the flame on the Statue of Liberty! Along the seine river, you have fantastic views if the Eiffel Tower! Easy to get to!

A life size replica of the flame on the US Statue of Liberty. It also is being used as a memorial to Princess Diana who died in a car accident (????) in the tunnel underneath.

Even though this is really just a big flame statue, it’s quite moving due to the memorabilia people have laid out about Diana, and the fact it sits above the tunnel where the car crash took place. It’s actually quite emotional. It’s free - you...More

We came across this on our way to the Orangerie and found it was the full sized replica of the NewYork’s Statue of Liberty. It is interesting but not worth going there just to see it.

Completed in 1989, the monument is a full-scale replica of the torch's flame from the Statue of Liberty located in New York. Nowadays is also an unofficial memorial for Princess Diana as it is very close to the place of her fatal accident in 1997.

On my travels around Paris, I was pleased to see a memorial to the late Princess Diana, who was tragically killed in the under pass below. Laid with flowers, it seemed a fopitting tribute to her life.
