The canal boats are nice thing to do. Don't expect great views, interesting sights or buildings. 40 minutes is a little bit to long. Cost 10 euro/ 5 euro child.
Comparing it to Venice is a stretch. I only saw one or two canals. The gondolas are very large, with a capacity of 20-30 people, and powered by well-concealed outboard motors. Nevertheless, the town is quite pretty and quite well done.
Picturesque town with its own canals and motorised and colourfully painted boats that take tourists up and down the approximately 1-2 kilometres of waterways that intersect the town. A great place to while away a sunny afternoon.
Aveiro's main attraction is its network of canals. Aveiro has plenty of history, and the canals are associated with the growth and decline of its port and salt water lagoons. You can take a trip along these waterways in colourful and traditional boats. Even on a hot day, it…
Well worth the trip. Lots of boats on the canal o Averio so it is just choosing which one. Learnt a lot about the area and its history. So glad we did the trip
