About
This national shrine is the site where three young peasant shepherds spied a "lady brighter than the sun," which was, many believe, the first of six apparitions of the Virgin Mary in this region of Portugal.

The Baslicia was lovely. The graves of the Shepard's children was very dignified and prayerful. I was very humbled by the size, beauty, and simplicity of the Basilica.

I came here with my cousins and had a most unforgettable time. It was so special participating in the night candlelit procession and paying homage to a very sacred site. Enjoy my photos!

Even not so deep into the religion, this place is fascinating with its scale, energy and art. Massive square and beautiful church. The voice of the bells at every round hour make it even more special.

I love visiting the sanctuary of Fátima, Portugal. It’s one of my favorite places to go. I have considered staying there for a long time when I retire.

There is no admission fee. If you want to light a candle, there is an area where you can get them. There are prices indicated for each type of candle and drop boxes are provided for the payment.
