We Uber'd out here from the city and almost had the place to ourselves. How tranquil and beautiful it was, such an incredibly pleasant surprise after the bustle of Lisbon's sites. Very reasonable entry price. You then wander through room after room of golden, mirrored beauty.

Queluz is the former National Palace but is still used occasionally for hosting international dignitaries. It used to be the summer palace of the Portuguese Royal Family and was designed for summer lifestyles and with large windows around the living areas to allow for air flow
