Despite the dome being closed, the surrounding gardens and terraces are well worth a visit. There are roaming peacocks and views along the river and over the city. Visit the gallery and library too , the restaurant is very reasonably priced
This park is a beautiful and peaceful place to go if you want to get away from the crowds of Porto. The sound of animals and fountains surrounded by lots of trees is what I needed for a couple of hours to recharge.

Sadly the palace was closed but the gardens sorrounding it were open and are a a beautifull place for taking pictures. I specially like the view you get, one can see most of the city and the riviera, it's breathtaking.
Definitely worth a visit for the lovely views of the Douro towards both the city and the coast. Very nice gardens. Pavillion Rosa Mota appears to be under some major renovation. Park has the added plus of bearing the name of the worlds best football...More
Beautiful park with breathtaking views over the river. On Sunday it has a book fair in the main avenue. There is a lake and teared gardens with lovely statues and fountains. It has peacocks ducks geese and bizarrely cocks that live in the grounds. Lovely...More
