The large Park was opened in 1940 and is in English style park located at the seaside in Finish style. The Sibelius Monument is located in the park. In 1945 it was renamed after the Finish composer Sibelius on his 80 years birthday.

This is a nice par, but not a must see. The interesting aspect is the memorial sculpture that the park is named after. Although beautiful in fall with the changing colored leaves if you're short on time in the city I wouldn't use the time...More
Great park to go for a walk in. It is a fairly small park, but you can spend an hour walking though this park and the connected green space. The statue is interesting. It is not worth a special trip though.
The park is largely comprised of a Monument to Sibelius, and unveiled in 1967 following the composer's death in 1957. Sibelius was one of Finland's noted composers.The monument weighs 24 tons and looks like organ pipes.
