Drove to Cassis, parked the car, hiked the limestone cliffs and trails to 2 "Calanques", inlets surrounded by tall cliffs. Amazing beautiful views along the trail...choose the trail close to the sea. Some up and down, but so worth the view and final destination.

We booked a 3 hour zodiac tour with L’eden tours. Amazing rock formations, inlets, fishing villages, islands, caves, quarries , blue water, etc. Just amazing even on a cloudy day.

It is worth a trip to Cassis to see the Calanques. You can buy your ticket when you arrive in the morning. It is so worth it and the water colors are amazing.

A great afternoon walk doing the petit prince walking tour together with Port Miou and Port Pin - stunning views along the way with some difficult climbs as well.

Walked via the pathway that runs through the old quarry that runs alongside Port Miou. There is a car park located at the bottom of Avenue des Calanques but I would imagine it will be very busy during the summer months. We walked through the...More

I guess I was taken in by the pictures of the Calanques motivating me to drive a few hours to see them. I did not realize that most of the more dramatic pictures were aerial shots and not shots taken at sea level. Consequently, when...More

The Calanques form a spectacular bit of coastline between Marseilles, Cassis and La Ciatot. We followed the trail markers from Cassis and once out of Cassis were soon walking along rocky paths which led down to a number of intimate coves surrounded by high cliffs....More
