The Norwegians have done a great job at this waterfall and giving a person access to getting up close. You get to walk behind the waterfall and all the way around it for many different views and great pictures.

Gorgeous waterfalls are everywhere in Norway but this is one of the most beautiful. On the day we were there in September it was running about medium volume and was still amazing. Parking is easy and the walk to and behind the falls is fairly...More

I recommend this trip. The waterfall is beautiful, it’s interesting to walk behind and also the surrounding is stunning - norwegian countryside and mountains.

A footpath leads behind this stunning waterfall so you can experience the real force of the water as it roars over the edge of the cliff. Behind the waterfall you are actually quite dry. although you are liable to get a little damp from water...More

Why is this waterfall different than others ? Because you can walk behind it. It is not dangerous, you do not get wet really, just some drops. It looks amazing from downstairs also. There is a bridge, souvenir shops, bars. Toillets are dirty. But go...More

Consider that in Norway during Summer it never gets actually dark. I agree with the other answer, by bus it may take up to 90 minutes to 2 hours. Bus service is very punctual. Enjoy the ride. Best luck.
