If you apreciate architecture and churches you must come for a visit. There are many places to park around, but I prefer public transportation which is efficient and safe. Near the church you have other attractions to visit, malls, stores, gardens, etc.

This is a beautiful church with wonderful, historic architecture. We enjoyed wandering around and checking it out. It has a European feel and is quite impressive.

We saw it from the restaurant in the superlative Australia Museum, looking all shiny and church-like. We saw it from Hyde Park, where it dominates one side of the rectangle, tall and broad, balancing off the view nicely, with more modern buildings on the opposite...More

St. Mary's cathedral is one of the landmarks of Sydney. It is an English-style gothic church founded in 1824. It has beautiful stained glass windows and four organs. During the High Mass on Sundays there are beautiful songs.

The Sydney Central Business District is abuzz with
energy. Power brokers run to and from high rise
buildings and after-work drink places, high-end
shoppers tour venues like the QVB, and fine diners
frequent the many celebrity chef restaurants. For a
dose of culture, walk to the NSW Art Gallery, or visit
the Sydney Museum. To escape the hustle and bustle,
reconnect with nature at the Sydney Botanical Gardens

Free, though some people might leave a small donation, knowing that all churches accept donations. The Sunday tour is also free.
