Overpriced, quite a small place. To start from, each and every minimum element including a map will cost additional money. The sanctuary does not have irrigation system so you will well feel the drought in QLD. For goats and sheep no a single piece of grass in their paddocks.

Thanks for your feedback. Please know that there are many free activities throughout the day at Lone Pine, including our 15 daily keeper talks and presentations. In addition to our $1 souvenir guidebooks (which were introduced to minimise paper wastage throughout the sanctuary and have had a substantial effect), guests can download a free version of our map and schedule from our website ahead of time, or by accessing our real-time website koala.today, via our free Wi-Fi. There are also large maps and schedules located throughout the sanctuary. Whilst Australia is currently in the midst of our worst drought in history, we're very proud to say that we have almost 2-million litres of rainwater storage onsite which we use to irrigate all paddocks, kangaroo reserves, and gardens. There is certainly more grass on the ground for our animals than if we were to leave these areas to their own devices, and we are doing the best we can at this time to provide natural feed and shelter for our wildlife. This also includes irrigating our eucalyptus plantations, to allow us to feed our 130 koalas each and every day. You are right in that our koala hold photos run in session times, but this is to keep the health and happiness of our koalas at the forefront of everything we do. At Lone Pine, our koalas are handled for a maximum of 30 minutes a day, and if handled two days in a row, are not handled on the third. If at anytime they prefer to be in their exhibits, they are returned immediately. None of our wildlife are forced to interact with guests if they do not wish to do so. All of them have the choice to move themselves to a rest area, or be returned to their exhibit, when they are ready. In fact, the sheep and pig that you pictured are some of our animals that are in their own spaces and not out and about with guests. They also tend to rest during the heat of the day (and it has been quite warm lately), so can often be spotted enjoying a quiet nap. If you would like to know more about Lone Pine, you are welcome to check out the 'About Us' page on our website or email us on service@koala.net.

Our visitors enjoyed the close contact with kangaroos and emus. Highlight was seeing platypuses clearly in their tank.

Spent about 2.5 hours here (excluding photo taking, as I do not believe in man handling these beautiful animals). Park is small and shady with many trees and spots for you to rest. Koala keeper talk was informative, learnt a few new interesting Koala facts! The marsupials look
