Very nice park showcasing the geothermal conditions of the area, Maori way of life, arts and a village and a kiwi (the bird) house. You get a map, don't lose it for the signposting is incomprehensible. Admission charges are fairly high.More

Our guide was a native mauri, so very knowledgeable. We saw the geysers, mud pools, kiwis (a special exhibit)and Mauri college. As well as an assortment of mauri features. Really good.

If you have the chance to visit Te Puia you definitely have to go there. The landscape and all the volcanic activities you can see there is just stunning! And even the Art Institute is worth a visit.
