Loved that it had many different gardens from different countries. A lot of the flowers weren’t blooming. Nice walk along the Avon River.

You could spend an hour or all day to take in the botanical gardens. Great history here along with beautiful areas to visit. They even encourage kids to climb the trees.

The centre shows how much has still to be done following the devasting earthquake some years ago however get out and about and see the lovely areas around this city which are really worth visiting e.g. the botanical gardens which are an oasis of calm

As locals we probably don’t appreciate how beautiful our Botanical Gardens are; spent a very pleasant wander, everything so lush and green, roses just coming into full bloom, everything so well maintained and a great children’s playground.

Large area but could do with more flowers. Better signage and local maps would enable easier access etc. There was a noticeable lack of litter bins.

The Botanic Gardens are simply delightful. The many different gardens provide a pallet of different experiences. Truly a lovely way to spend a morning or afternoon. The fact that it is FREE is a bonus.

It will be high summer in NZ so there will be much in bloom - try the rose garden and the glass house for a start. The Botanic Garden is well worth a visit at any time of year.

More than likely there will be begonias is the greenhouse in flower. There could be several other plants in bloom depending on what the gardeners have been planting in some of the rotational beds.
