One of must-see monasteries from Bucovina. We visit in October and a part of the outer walls were under repair. It’s a nun monastery near Gura Humorului. Has the largest variety of souvenirs that you can buy in Moldova.

I don't understand why I have to pay for monastries entrance-it's saint place, where we pray to God. What I don't understan more it's open market in monastry, where we see a lot of improperlychinese thinks.I prefered a quiet, full of "lights" and history view.

The Voronet monastery is painted absolutly spectacular. Famous for its blue, called Voronet blue, I dare say it should be second to its painting depicting Heaven, Hell and the Purgatory between them. A true masterpiece, I can only imagine the impact it must have had...More

We stayed in Suceava, in NE Romania and visited several painted monasteries in the surrounding area. The monastery in Voronet was the best preserved one we visited. Extraordinary frescoes adorn the exterior and the interior of the church. The monastery is surrounded by beautifully kept...More

After the peace and tranquillity of Moldovita and Suceavita, Voronet was terrible. It was quite splendid like all the painted monasteries, however there were far too many tourists. There seemed to be at last 4 buses in, and there were far too many people for...More
